End of Chapter 7

I turned my back on her and stormed out of the room. I walked down the hall and went into my bedroom slamming to door as I entered. I didn’t cry. I was to angry for that. Eventually, I decided I’d better go out and clean up the sitting room. As soon as I excited my room I saw Charles leaning against the pader across from my bedroom door.
“Are you alright?” he asked me.
“Fine. I was just going to clean up the mess in the sitting room” I replied
“I’ll help you”
So we made our way down the hall to the sitting room. I could hear my mother’s cry’s coming from the kusina but I wasn’t ready to face her just yet. Me and Charles cleaned up the sitting room rather quickly until I realized John and Annika were no where to be seen.
“Where are your parents?” I asked Charles.
“my father took my mother outside to calm down.” he replied.
“Oh” I mumbled. “Charles?”
“Yes?” He answered.
“I was thinking, and I would like to accept your offer.”
“You’ll marry me?” He asked getting excited.
“Yes.”

Chapter 8

After Annika and my mother made up from their fight-which took forever because both of them were stubborn as mules-we engaged ourselves in wedding plans. We all agreed on most of the designs, surprisingly enough. The one thing I wouldn’t sway on and my mother kept trying to convince me was the wedding dress.
The one my mother liked was strapless, tight in the tuktok but flowed out towards the bottom. I didn’t hate this dress but I had my eye on one that I found much madami beautiful, elegant, and looked madami like me. It was tube tuktok as well but looked like something a princess would wear. It had beading from tuktok to bottom and the bottom trailed out behind me. I loved it.
“Come on Esme!” She had complained “This one will look so much prettier when your walking down the aisle.
“No mother. I am wearing the dress I would like now please stop trying to convince me otherwise!” I responded.
Charles and I had been spending a decent amount of time together but not a lot. I wanted to spend madami time with him in hopes that I would fall in pag-ibig but much to my disappointment that wasn’t that easy. I still could only think of him as a good friend. We hadn’t spent any nights together. My father would not allow that. That was too far for him despite the fact we were engaged. I didn’t mind that though. I didn’t care my father wouldn’t allow us to spend nights together because I didn’t even feel comfortable going that far in our relationship.
The wedding had been planned for July 15. That was only two weeks away and everyone was getting tense from the stress of the event.
I had chosen Rebecca-my best friend for as long as I could remember-to be my maid of honour. My cousins Mia and Alexis were going to be my bridesmaids. Together we had chosen the prettiest dresses for them to wear. I didn’t want to pick it out for them so we got together with a bridal catalogue in front of us until we found a dress we all loved. It was tube-top, knee length in a maroon colour. We customized each dress so they were a bit different. Rebecca’s had a puffier palda and a bow around the middle, Mia’s went straight down and had sleeves instead of the tube top, and Alexis’s was a slightly darker colour of maroon and had jewels around the stomach area.
Charles had chosen a man I had seen before but had no clue who he actually was to be his best man.
The menu, designs, and reception had all been planned over a week and now the wedding was just one madami week away.
Over that week I did barely anything. I had to try on the dress I liked multiple times so the store could hem it to my fitting, but other that that I just got well rested.
The araw of the wedding came quicker than I had imagined. Still, the morning I woke up knowing today I would become Mrs. Esme Evenson, I could feel no pag-ibig towards the man I was marrying. I tried to keep the thought in the back of my mind but I couldn’t always do that because this thought was that I only agreed to marry Charles to please my parents. I wanted to make them happy and proud.
The wedding was at 1:00 pm and I had to get up at 8:00 am. Did getting me ready really take that long? Rebecca came and woke me up at 8:00 and dragged me into my bathroom. She had three big bags with her and she opened them up and put them on my counter. Each bag had madami make-up than I had ever seen in my life. The most of it on my face and then helped me with the dress. When she was done it was almost noon. I took one last glance in the mirror before the rushed me out to the car where Mia, Alexis, Annika, and my mother were waiting.
It took only twenty minutos to get to the church and then I was rushed in through a side entrance. I was ibingiay the bouquet and my father took his place beside me. I had about one oras before I would leave Esme Anne Platt behind me and become Esme Anne Evenson...
