I step back into the shower, thoughts racing through my head. I suddenly notice the water is freezing cold. I scream and leap out of the shower, soaking wet.
I can her Jake running up the stairs. He suddenly punds on the door.
"Ness you okay?" He asks.
"I'm fine, I forgot the water heater was broken. Just go back to cleaning the kitchen." I tell him. As soon as he is gone, I grab my towel and dart to our bedroom. I slip on my sweat pants and a big tee-shirt.
The door opens and Jake walks into the room.
"Hey." I say as I flop down onto the bed.
"You really should pay madami attention Ness." He once again shares wisdom.
"I know, I know." I retort, feeling the bits of frustration on my lips.
"Whats bothering you?" He asks suddenly loosing his sarcastic tone.
"Well honestly, how nothing in my life can go right, right now. I mean being with you is wonderful but everything else..."
"I understand Nessie, you don't have to make your self perfect for me. I pag-ibig you the way you are." He says as he plops down susunod to me.
"It's a bit of a habit for me." I mutter.
"You think I don't know that? Thats one of the reasons why I pag-ibig you, why I married you." He leans over and kisses the tuktok of my head.
"What if this time it really is the end? I mean last time we convinced them, but this time I'm not so sure." I sigh as I lean into him.
"Don't you think maybe we have had a little too much negativity today?" He gently lifts my chin.
I turn away, and lay back against the head board. I wish somehow I could go back and change what I did. Why did it have to happen to me again? Probably my lack of insight, but I have my family. They know the game, and how to play it. But me? No, simple as that.
"I don't feel up to going to Billy's tonight, but I want you to go." I try to say positively.
"Okay." And that is all he says. As I close my eyes, the world I am in grows quiet, and blank.
