Plot
When Bella (Stewart) relocates to the drizzly town of Forks, she meets the Cullens, a family of Bampira who can control their desire to feed on humans. She falls in pag-ibig with Edward Cullen (Pattinson), who sees in her the soulmate he’s been searching for. However, so appealing is her scent, he must battle his desire to drink her blood, the heroine akin to the vampire’s own personal heroin.

Review

About three things the Twilight producers were absolutely positive. First, Twilight was a vampire tale. Second, there was a part of it that thirsted for teenage blood. And third, adolescent girls were unconditionally and irrevocably in pag-ibig with it. Indeed, American booksellers have hailed the may-akda of the saga, which runs through four novels, as the new J. K. Rowling — Stephenie Meyer’s first instalment selling madami than five million copies in the US alone, and thereby helping to fill the void left sa pamamagitan ng the departed Boy Who Lived. The fact that the film version arrives Stateside in what has become the pre-Christmas ‘Potter slot’ will only boost the comparisons.

In contrast to the wizardry franchise, however, the director here manages to improve on the film’s papery progenitor. While a succession of helmers have struggled to condense Rowling’s ever-expanding tomes into a digestible screen serving, Catherine Hardwicke hits tuktok gear from the outset, rattling through the early exposition and never once allowing the painful teen brooding that floods Meyer’s book to overflow into insipidness. Meyer is a devout Mormon, her tale a metaphor for carnal abstinence, allowing young girls to splash around in a pool of obsessive pag-ibig without having to swim in the turbulent waters of scary teenage sex.

The author, who had final cut, thought Hardwicke’s first cut a little too steamy, hence the interaction between Bella and Edward becomes even madami intimate, Hardwicke employing close-ups and avoiding the exposed flesh captured sa pamamagitan ng the wider lenses. The director, of course, understands the teen audience — consider Thirteen or Lords Of Dogtown — and she conjures one of the most beautiful films of the year. Former Potterer Robert Pattinson (Cedric in Goblet Of apoy and Order Of The Phoenix) is staggeringly handsome, as are the rest of his vampire brethren. The backdrop, meanwhile, the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest, is truly breathtaking, Hardwicke sending her stars hurtling up towering trees and sinking into deep moss.

The lead performance too is strong, Panic Room and Into The Wild bituin Kristen Stewart consistently excellent. She is the vehicle through which audiences are carried on their journey, and her keen intelligence prompts a mature performance. Bella is both vulnerable and strong, a three-time damsel in distress, requiring Edward’s white-faced knight to save her, and yet courageous enough to surrender to danger and send an immortal bloodsucker into a frenzy of desire. sinabi bloodsucker Pattinson struggles at times — it’s a demanding first lead role, requiring him to project a perennial restrained desire. He settles down eventually, but not before he’s treated us to a series of hard-faced pouts.

Despite the presence of vampires, Twilight is a romance, not a horror, and anyone hoping to sink their teeth into a juicy gore-fest will be disappointed. There is action, of course, ignited sa pamamagitan ng the arrival of a trio of wandering neck-biters (who, needless to say, are impossibly good-looking) that feed on the locals and lust after Bella’s blood, leading to a showdown in a be-mirrored ballet studio. Hardwicke sensibly introduces these rogues early. And yet, while she does have action credentials (working on Three Kings before shooting Dogtown), the sequences are occasionally predictable, the wire-work sometimes obvious.

She also struggles with the depiction of Bampira in direct sunlight. Meyer’s saga was prompted sa pamamagitan ng a dream, in which she saw Bella and Edward lying in the forest, sunlight twinkling on the vampire’s exposed flesh. In truth, Hardwicke would have liked to exorcise the scene, but it’s too important to the author. She turned to ILM, although despite their best efforts, Edward’s spangled skin looks a little odd.

Verdict
A sometimes girlie swirl of obsession that will delight fans, this faithful adaptation is after teenage blood, and will most likely hit a box office artery.

I've gotta say, when I walked into the theater, I kept saying to myself, "it's a low-budget film. It's a four hundred whatever book crammed into two hours..." you get the point. I wasn't expecting the movie to be as great as the book (Duh!). However, the movie turned out better than I expected! I actually loved it and I'm planning on seeing it again!

The Characters

Edward:
I loved how Robert actually portrayed Edward. It was exactly how I pictured him. He was defiantly creepy. I mean, appearing in her room and just standing there, but it was how I thought of Edward. I remember pagbaba the book...

Midnight Sun

Ever wonder how Twilight would be if it was told from Edward's point of view? Did you ever wonder what he was thinking in biology class as his pale white fists were clenched, or when he broke the boundaries between himself and bella in the meadow? It turns out Stephenie Meyer has been working on a book called Midnight Sun that is completly in Edward's perspective, and follows the same exact story as Twilight. The only problem is that people were illegally putting her rough draft on the internet and now Stephenie Meyer is most likely not going to ilathala the book. I had read the...

Twilight co-stars and BFFs Nikki Reed and Kristen Stewart stick close together at the their segundo stop on the Twilight Hot Topic Tour in Garden State Plaza on Friday in Paramus, New Jersey.

Nikki, 20, recently told InStyle magazine about how she likes to be comfortable: “I feel comfortable in this [her clothes] because it’s loose-fitting, and I get to sit down in a chair! They put me in 12-inch stilettos [in the movie] because I am supposed to be taller than my sister… It was the running joke that we might not be able to shoot because I might not be able to walk. I was like, ‘Can you just have us sitting and put me on a pillow?’”

The Twilight soundtrack is currently in the #1 spot on Billboard.com and iTunes! The film opens in theaters susunod week.

***Contains MINOR Spoilers***

So, all the Rome and Madrid footage being released really got me thinking... are there two meadow scenes in the movie? I remember a Twilight Tuesday, when Larry Carroll asked Rob about a shot they were filming. Larry asked if it was the famous meadow scene. Rob replied that it wasn't the meadow scene, and that it was sort of a petsa scene. But both take place in a "meadow"-like environment. I've been speculating over this the entire weekend or pagbaba through chapter 13 over and over again, and I just thought I would share with you guys.

I've read the DRAFT of...

"I'd rather hear your theories..."
Ever since the Thatrical (final) trailer came out, I've been hearing alot of complaints or disapproving remarks about Rob;s accent. And frankly, I pag-ibig his accent. He is doing a great job. A few people sinabi they can't understand him when he says, "I'd rather hear your theories." They sinabi they couldnt understand the word "theories". They also sinabi he sounded irish? I dont understand. I didnt see any flaws in his accent. Maybe they were too distracted sa pamamagitan ng his eyes that they were unable to understand him? i mean that could happen cuz he's just so good. Still, we have yet to see alot of his accent, but I think its fantastic so far. Anyways, what do you guys think? Have you heard these comments too?

As some of you may have heard, my partial draft of Midnight Sun was illegally posted on the Internet and has since been virally distributed without my knowledge or permission or the knowledge or permission of my publisher.

I have a good idea of how the leak happened as there were very few copies of Midnight Sun that left my possession and each was unique. Due to little changes I made to the manuscript at different times, I can tell when each left my possession and to whom it was given. The manuscript that was illegally distributed on the Internet was ibingiay to trusted individuals for a good purpose....

Hayley Williams' band Paramore just won mtvU's Woodie of the taon and currently sits atop the charts with the Twilight soundtrack. But that doesn't mean she can resist the fangs of the vampire series' main character Edward: "I'm in pag-ibig with a vampire," she tells MTV.com.

And it's this affection for the Stephenie Meyer-penned vampire novels and their characters that influenced "Decode," Paramore's contribution to the film's soundtrack. "I was definitely pulling from things I read in the book," Williams said. "There's a few references. They might be a little bit vague, but I think that people...
