neeki Any theories of the meaning of the chess board? Could a pawn have some meaning (is that a pawn? I don't understand chess!)?

xXEimearDHXx For realz....?? That's different, anyway - the other covers don't have nearly as many components (it's why I thought it was a fake at first). Maybe this book is busier? I have a few theories with the cover art. Maybe the red pawn is the 'old' Bella, and the queen is the 'new' Bella, ie vampire Bella? Maybe it has something more to do with a checkmate, like the final move or something. End game. Anyone want to make a foum topic? Lol.

neeki Well i'm glad you guys know the rules of chess! That's very interesting. It's a pretty fitting choice for a front cover then isn't it? It's growing on me lol. Do you guys think the whole "queen" thing could also have to do with what her special gift is as a vamp? I'm thinking she's going to be quite powerful.

Twilight_Guru -freaks out- SHE IS GOING TO PICK JACOB! Oh god. I have an odd feeling that the little excerpt is with Jacob, not Edward. I seriously started hyperventalating. 'I was abruptly overwhelmed by the truth of my own words.' There is NO f*cking way this could've been with Edward because she already was positive they belonged together. Oh no no no no no nooooo.

sparkly_edward hey i just had a thought. u no how a pawn turns into a queen and all at the end of board. What if the pawn being red stands for her still having blood as human and she turns (aka into a vampire) as a beautiful, powerful white marbled (like a vampire) lady. And in a way the queen protects the king which could be edward or jacob. could this be her possibly protecting jacob or edward in Breaking dawn and leading one or the other to win the battle rivalry between the two. I think the cover shows bella turning from human(jacobs side) into vampire (edwards side) and ends the broken hearts and uncertainty.

deans_gurl i think that it is right before he turns her and he is scared to...she is like "we were meant to be together" to persuade him more, then he says "forever" then dum dum dum...he changes her!!! at least...that is what i hope happens......I just realised...why would Jacob be scared of them being together forever when he is clearly the one who thinks so the most?

marisak1 it can't be jacob! jacob and bella number one cant be together forever, theyre not vampires. and number two, he is most likely going to imprint. i am PRAYING that stephenie had him imprint. and besides that, she already chose edward! she wouldn't go back. she couldn't. and on entertainment weekly's website, she has the engagement ring. not to jacob, but to edward.

fanpire13 actually in the quote i think its edward shes talking to because in new moon she said it never made sense for edward to love her so when she was surprised by her own words i think its her finally accepting that they really do belong together and the last part when he says forever thats the whole reason for her becoming a vamp, so she can be with him forever and when shes telling him not to be afraid i thinks its because hes about to change her and hes scared hes gonna kill her go suck balls jacob!

mimi1600 I think how i remember on stephenie meyer's website, Stephenie wrote how even though bella loves both edward and jacob, and bella chooses edward despite the fact of how she loves jacob (which mentioned in eclipse is not enough) which makes bella and edwards love real. I can only reassure people about how strong bella and edwards love is and i felt so sorry for jacob despite how mean he was to bella... but i can only hope that he finds his special someone and is happy! (i think i'll scream if stephenie meyer ends up putting jacob and bella together, buti think she knows how many fans shes letting down then, so i doubt it) Bella and Edward forever. <333
