(Notes: You'll recognize portions of this chapter—small bits survived and were combined with what is now Chapter 20 "Impatience." This chapter slowed down the pace of the "hunt" part of the story, but I feel like I cut out a lot of Alice's personality when I sacrificed it.)

I walked towards the rabbit, trying to ignore the stares of the Cullen’s on my back. It wasn’t easy. I could hear Ben start a conversation with them trying to attract their attention, but they answered his tanong without so much as glancing at him.
“Where do I sit?” Ben asked opening the door for Alice. Jasper through him a dangerous glare and hopped in after her.

As soon as Mitchell left I crawled under the blankets on my bed. It created a dark cave around me which I craved now because, in the dark, no one could see my tears.
