I am a fan of Stephenie's writing,but I don't think The Host will match the fanbase that Twilight has

I agree with you. Although I like the book but twilight has a certain charm.

I've never read The Host so I'm unsure of what it's about. For that reason, I don't think I have anything to go on. It could be amazing. It could be bad, but I think that Twilight will always be slightly more popular. It's difficult to create one amazing franchise, let alone two! But you never know.

Let's not forget that Stephanie wrote both of them. I like The Host, and I think with the movie fans, it'll encourage them to read the book(s). If not, there's still the movie. Either way, I do think it will be successful.

It's definitely got a big fan base, but I'm not sure it will get as huge as Twilight unless the rumours about a second book are true so it has time to get bigger.

It got a lot of hate because it was SMeyer's book, and since it was a bad movie... I don't think it will be as big as Twilight.

I've read The Host and the book wasn't that bad, although it was a little silly. The movie was just terrible (the acting, directing, screenplay...all of it was pretty crappy). So, no, The Host really had no chance of being as big as Twilight. For the most part, it was just made fun of.
