Her mother was a Lady at Court of noble blood, who had a liaison with Tom the blacksmith, this man with the tanned skin who she fell in pag-ibig with on sight. She would secretly watch him work, toiling at his forge, making shoes for the horses. He made her a ring of pure silver, hammered it and shaped it in the blazing fires, his sweat enshrined in the silver. They did not have just a liaison, they fell in pag-ibig but were destined to be apart. She knew the classes didn't mix so kept it all quiet. She found out she was pregnant and they decided that she could not keep the child with her or marry Tom.
Unfortunately, she died whilst giving birth to Gwen and Tom took on the role of bringing up the child, it was all hushed up. We know that she grew up in the Court of Sir Leon, as she's mentioned before.
Where am I going with this... well if she is of noble blood (which they will discover), she will be free to marry Arthur, as if she had grown up in Court, she would have been Lady Guinevere.
Of course her birth will have to be disclosed sa pamamagitan ng somebody, someone who knew all about it and that it was recorded in the Great aklatan sa pamamagitan ng Sir whatshisname of Monmouth. They paghahanap the records and find a Certificate of her birth, stating her mother's name (Lady whatever) and her father (Tom Smith).
It all makes sense, the way she carries herself and how regal she is, she was destined to re-discover her true status.
