What if it transpires that Gwen's mother was a noblewoman. I don't think I've heard her mention why her mother is not around. Okay, my theory is as follows:

Her mother was a Lady at Court of noble blood, who had a liaison with Tom the blacksmith, this man with the tanned skin who she fell in pag-ibig with on sight. She would secretly watch him work, toiling at his forge, making shoes for the horses. He made her a ring of pure silver, hammered it and shaped it in the blazing fires, his sweat enshrined in the silver. They did not have just a liaison, they fell in pag-ibig but were destined to be apart. She knew the classes didn't mix so kept it all quiet. She found out she was pregnant and they decided that she could not keep the child with her or marry Tom.

Unfortunately, she died whilst giving birth to Gwen and Tom took on the role of bringing up the child, it was all hushed up. We know that she grew up in the Court of Sir Leon, as she's mentioned before.

Where am I going with this... well if she is of noble blood (which they will discover), she will be free to marry Arthur, as if she had grown up in Court, she would have been Lady Guinevere.

Of course her birth will have to be disclosed sa pamamagitan ng somebody, someone who knew all about it and that it was recorded in the Great aklatan sa pamamagitan ng Sir whatshisname of Monmouth. They paghahanap the records and find a Certificate of her birth, stating her mother's name (Lady whatever) and her father (Tom Smith).

It all makes sense, the way she carries herself and how regal she is, she was destined to re-discover her true status.

Well that's my theory, what do you think.

ladytammmy Dude it's like you read my freaking mind. I have had this theory since like forever something just gives me the feeling that we might be getting some back story on Gwen's mom. But mine's a little different from yours. I think we might be seeing maybe Gwen's aunt on her mother's side or something and it turned out that her aunt married a king but was a commoner. Gwen's mom fell in love with Tom while he was married to Elyan's mom ( idk maybe they might be half siblings) but she didn't want to break up the family therefore not really acting on their feelings, Elyan's mom dies or leaves and Gwen's mom finds out she's pregnant dies while giving birth to Gwen but Elyan is too young to understand so Tom raises them together without ever telling Gwen or Elyan the truth.(This would create a great story for Elyan too). The reason I think she might not be a noble is because Gwen said her mom served as a maid in Sir Leon's home (I noticed she said my mother not our maybe that's the writers choice). So if Gwen meets her aunt who is now a queen by marriage not only will this emulate Gwen's exact predicament if she were to marry Arthur so gives them something to talk about and a connection. And maybe her aunt wouldn't want her to have the same life of pressure and nobles criticizing her basically telling her what she went through as a commoner queen when she thought she married for love and the marriage turned out not to be a good thing for her. And Gwen will her to choose between her love for Arthur and listening to the advice of a family member who went through the same thing. Maybe am just a hopeful but it's about time we get some female interaction Gwen needs it. And they did cast a queen and Julian said she would be a good female role model so who knows.

AND WHAT IF HE DOESNT WANT HER TO FIND OUT ? i had that theory that her mother was igraine's maid so she knew about nimueh , therefore uther banished her and agravaine took care of gwen and made sure that she will become morgana's maid

BradAngeleyes Well, hi ladytammmy (with 3 M's lol) great minds think alike as they say. Yes, I forgot to mention Elyan and like you, I think he has a different mother to Gwen. I hope she gets more female company in Season 4.

ladytammmy Haha yeah two mm's were taken had to stick with three. But yeah she does need female interaction which is one of my biggest wishes for her outside of A/G. *crosses fingers*. Hope it happens.

Bonne-Bell We definelty need to know more about Gwen's past and what happened to her mother. But I kind of don't want Gwen to have noble blood because I like the idea of a commoner marrying into royalty, dealing with the stuck-up nobility and eventually winning the love, admiration and acceptance of the people because she's an awesome Queen.

HumbleQueen Ohhh. These were so interesting to read! I like the idea of finding out she has some connection with nobility. I did hear about a big female lead for one of the episodes so let's hope there is something about Gwen in that, even if it's just female company as Lorna says. They say she has some big story lines in the season and it's been mentioned that Elyan has some story lines too. So many reasons to look forward to the season. We're all having a hard time waiting!

EPaws I like. I like. Will come back to this later cause there is no way that Elyan and Gwen had the same mother. Sorry folks, just not BIOLOGICALLY possible. JULIAN! Are you listening, dear boy? Here is your OUT! I am sure he has thought of it. Wait. I think we are in for some fun times. Where is S4? Fifty days is too long, peeps! Better yet, where is NSK? Our Naima would love this theory,though currently, our beloved girl is busy flailing in the rain for a romantic scene of angst between our beloved pair, which I like too I might add.

Ozioma I don't like the idea of guinevere being of a royal blood or noble whatever. You should remember the legends, I don't like how it ended. (lady gwenfyfa and lancelot-hate)

nsk ive a tendancy to get excited and then think clearly , so now i can leave a proper comment lol @ozioma , good point ! ur opinion changed mine lol , i still want the people to accept a servant to be their future queen not because they are forced too but because they love and care about gwen as an human being BUT id love her mother to be ygraine's maid and that agravaine is awere of gwen's past

Nasty_Nat Do you all remember episode 13 I think when Maorgana aske Gwen for help about convincing Sir Leon to be on her side. Gwen said her mom was Sir leon mom's maid. Great idea though.

RosalynCabenson I had the same idea! well not for S4, because I know the fact what Nasty_Nat said, but ignoring it for an AU story lol
