Honestly. I can understand why all of them get hate except for Hinata and Kirito. Some people just like hating things as a sort of hobby I swear.

I really do like Light as a character

^Yes he is actually a really good character. It's a shame people don't really get the depth of him.

I should also note this isn't the only characters I like that receive intense hate. Just the ones I chose to put up. But there's a ton that do fall under that category.

Light is actually one of my favorite anime characters and the main reason why I love Death Note.I also like Lucy,Natsu and Nami.I'm indifferent when it comes to Orihime and I don't know enough about the other characters in this list in order to judge them(I haven't watched Sword Art Online and have watched just a few episodes of Naruto).

I also like Natsu, Lucy and Sakura. Haven't seen the others respective Series yet. It is just as you said though. Hating has been made into a hobby XD Many hate just for the sake of doing so. For the sake of following the flow. Because that is the common thing to do. Characters can be unique in their one way possessing both positive and negative traits. Isn't it normal though? They also have the potential to improve and make progress. I can see that in the Characters I mentioned from this Poll. Not everyone can see clearly it seems and they will depend on every seemingly popular opinion they find !!!!

Also Sakura and Natsu. I used to hate Light because used to be such a huge L fangirl but overtime I have come to appreciate the complexity of his character xD
