But is it me, or did the school scene seem out of place?

Capaldi & Coleman were brilliant, but the plot... I'm a little bit of disappointed.

I really enjoyed it. Capaldi stepped into the role magnificantly, and Jenna was on top form as Clara, who's background was investigated a lot more, thankfully! I liked the plot- simple but effective, and the plot's resolution was dark and shrouded in mystery. The Paternoster gang made a welcome return, and the concept of disguise with parallels between Vastra's vail and The Doctor's new face sent out a good message. It was good how they've moved away from the boyfriend romantic element, hinting at the fans who only watch Who for the eye-candy (they're bascially represented as Clara in the episode). Finally, Matt's cameo was brilliant- It made me miss him all the more but as he told Clara, and us, to move on and that Capaldi was still him, it made me love Capaldi all the more. Congrats to Moffat and everyone else for delivering a fine episode!

It wasn't the best episode but it wasn't the worst either.

I loved the cinematography and most of the dialogue, and a lot of people are saying that Clara's flashback was unrealistic but I thought it worked well. I miss eleven but I was happy and shocked to see him! Also maybe one improvement maybe to touch upon the fact that clara met otherversions of him but I guess eleven was HER doctor and best friend.

One of the best, if not the best opener since the revival in 2005 :)
