does anyone else get really bothered when pelikula switch the races of characters that are obviously supposed to be something else? (like a character based on an anime ipakita whose obviously asian being played sa pamamagitan ng someone white)

my brother says that i'm just being really anal but sometimes when pelikula switch races it really bugs me. he's super hyped about the prince of persia movie coming out and was saying stuff like, "gylenhal looks just like him," and "it looks so tight!" and i agree with him, but i think that it would look better if they got a realy asian or middle eastern guy to play his part. my brother also points out that i only get mad when its people playing the part of asian characters, but i just feel like if someones name is ang it just makes common sense to find an asian kid to play him.

i feel like i'm ranting a bit so i guess what i want to know is if there is anybody else that feels like this. i'm perfectly fine with switching up races, but if pelikula are going to do it they should make sure they do it with characters that have racially ambiguous name.(but i also feel that there need to be madami asian actors and mga aktres in hollywood, i dont' care if you have to start taking actors from other countries. i'd pag-ibig to see Donnie Yen and Jamie Foxx in the same movie, or Andy On in some kickass action film, and i will definitely pag-ibig to see Rain in another American film)
