Has anyone heard Bandai entertainment is closing down?

For those of you who don't know Bandai entertainment is a company that makes English dubs, translates and sells manga and that type of thing. I have no idea why it is closing down but it is, did anyone else here this or know why? Also they have some good anime's licensed like Haruhi Suzumiya, do you think they will go to Funimation or something? also does anyone know why it's closing down? just kinda sad because they had a lot of good shows/ manga licensed

Anime Sagot

It's because of us.
The anime business is having a lot of trouble because alot of anime fans don't actually buy anime. They watch it for free on some site or download it (which is illegal btw)
It costs these companies money to produce anime and when they don't get that money back, they suffer. Scanlations are super bad for mangakas too.
So yeah, lots of anime and manga businesses have gone under (like Bandai & Genon) or are having trouble (like Funimation)

There will be always new companies being formed to make make madami releases. There's a ton of companies that make releases for alot of otaku things and from what i read they aren't closing completely. They just aren't making any madami releases. Which is far different than closing completely. Tons of companies will going under and yet tons of companies will come back. It isn't just the anime fans downloading. It's also the economy. Many people can't just jump up to buy animes. There's alot of things involved not just anime fans not buying stuff.
