famfan This is my head canon. It is the scene right before she enters his chambers. I regret nothing! Gwen is pacing outside the kings chambers (405) Should I, wrinkling her nose and furrowing brow, no I shouldn't. Desperately she thinks to herself, I have to....I have to make sure, I have to see him with my own two eyes. He didn't mean it. The amount of much pressure he's under, I know one of the counsel member talked him into it. Saying that word, INAPPROPRIATE! I will not press him to change his mind, I just need to be sure...I need to know he is well. She raises her hand to knock, but slowly pulls her hand back, dropping her head and taking a few deep breaths. No, she shakes her head, no he should come to me. Gwen slowly turns and begins to walk away. Half way down he hall, Gwen sees Mary carrying a pitcher. Gwen's insides jump. It has to be for Arthur. Gwen smiles brightly at Mary. She has just receive a gift, a sign, most importantly an excuse to see Arthur. Trying not to sound to gleeful Gwen chimes, “Hi Mary, why don't I take that in for you.” Gwen stops and composes herself, smoothing her dress, hair, and licks slightly dry lips. She give each of her cheeks a little pinch just to add a little color. Gwen is also mentally prepping herself; DO NOT jump into his arms, remember to call him sire (she laughs to herself, he hates that), walk in, place the pitcher down, say nothing and walk out. (period) He will apologize to you soon enough, the wool-head, but this is just you doing your duties. She rolls her eyes at that last thought....yeah, your duties...right.. Gwen rolls her shoulder back and let's out a breath just as she knocks on Arthur's chamber doors.
