Duncan’s POV: I woke up for the millionth time in the middle of the night. I looked over at the alarm clock. 2:45 a.m. the red numbers said. I sat up and ran my fingers through my hair. I was so tired, I didn’t really feel tired anymore. I walked upstairs, down the hall, and to the right. I turned the doorknob to my room very slowly and cracked it a little. I saw pure darkness except for the moonlight shining through the window. Then I saw Courtney sitting on my kama with her knees pulled up to her chest. I turned to close the door and go back downstairs, but Courtney said, “Is it always this cold in your room?”
“Only in the winter.”I said.
Courtney just nodded.
“Sorry to bother you.”I sinabi and turned to leave again.
“No, I like being bothered.”Courtney said.
“Do you want me to get you a blanket or something?”I asked.
“No thanks. Why are you being so nice to me?” she said.
“Would you rather me be mean to you and tell you to hit the road?”I asked.
“Not really.” she said.
I looked at Courtney’s beautiful, mocha hair as it shined in the moonlight.
“So are you and Gwen, a couple?”Courtney asked.
“No. We’ve been apart for a while.”I said.
“Why did you do it?” she asked.
I was shaking I was so mad at myself.
“Courtney I-.”I tried to say but Nikki started calling my name.
I shut the door and went to Nikki’s room.
“Go to sleep!” Nikki yelled and slapped me in the face.
I fell to the floor, quickly got up and tried to bust through the door but Nikki already shut and locked it. I went back to where Courtney was. I opened the door but Courtney was already asleep. I walked over to her, brushed the hair out of her face, and kissed her head goodnight. I walked back to the sopa and tried to get some sleep.
