It was about midnight. Amber was texting away on a phone. Every now and then she would cough or sneeze or something. 
I doubt she's sick, but I winced every time it happened. 
Kowalski was in the lab with private, and Rico was in there. 
Suddenly there was a large crash. 
Only when I jumped did I notice I had spent the past half oras staring at amber. I creeped myself out.
Rico came burying through the door. He piled amber, sa pamamagitan ng the arm, off her bunk, and dragged her into the lab. I followed.
In the lab, I saw private, so sick he was almost dead, but on the floor in front, kowalski had passed out.
"oh good lord," I heard amber breath. She checked his pulse.
"fine." she sinabi with a shiver. "just a bit sick." she shivered and Nawawala balance. She had to hug the pader to keep balance for a while.
"but, but, but that how private started now he's dying!" I complained. 
Amber checked his pulse.
"he's not dying, skipper." she said. I couldn't figure out her emotion.
"he's not?" I asked.
"no."
"that's good." I sighed in relief.
"skipper, a word?" she grabbed me sa pamamagitan ng the shoulder and pulled me out the door.
"what now? You broke the happiness!" I said.
"enough!" she sounded tense and mean. "skipper there is no happiness!"
"yeah, a duh, privates gonna be okay-" I felt so confident, but unready for the susunod sentence.
"private's dead."
My smile faded quick. I blinked hard. I couldn't let amber see me cry.
Amber took a deep breath, then put her head on my shoulder.
"skipper, he died from some disease. Even with eleven degrees, and one from Harvard, I cannot find any disease even similar to private's! What if it's contagious? And kowalski just passed out, and I've been SOO cold and tired this evening and, and, oh, skipper I'm just so afraid!" she shivered."
I didn't know what to do. I just pushed her head off my shoulder. Then I saw she had been crying. But something caught my eye. I looked at her pupils.
They were red. Blood red. 
I gasped and backed away.
"what?" she asked, in one of those high, feminine, crying voices.
Just then kowalski and Rico come in.
"I'm fine, skipper just," he yawned, "just been kinda tired lately."
Amber blinked tears away, but they just kept coming. Kowalski noticed her and took action.
"what? What happened?" he asked.
Kowalski let amber cry on his shoulder. sa pamamagitan ng this time, she looked so grim, she couldn't even say what happened.
"kowalski," I pushed the tanong out, "how long has private been dead?"
He looked at me, stunned. I could see his beak moving, trying to figure out which words to say, but he didn't say any at all.
"he's, he's all dead and diseased and, and and! Oh, we're all on a die! We're dead! I don't wanna die! Skipper, what if I'm next! I think I'm next! An I next?" 
Kowalski pushed her off, "your burning up fast, amber. I think you ARE sick."
It only made her cry more.
To think, she knows 40 ways to kill someone with a swimming pool drain, and now she's crying at the though of being killed sa pamamagitan ng some unknown disease.

I got in bed, afraid Of the nightmare.

I fell asleep in a field. Green grass, tall trees, birds flying high. I woke up in the complete opposite, black, dead grass, burnt down trees, carcasses or bird shot down sa pamamagitan ng riffles. Itook a look around. I came soon the dead body of a penguin, and gasped. It was private. Only, his body had been slightly burned. I could see his guts and blood. The buzzards must have gotten to him. I walked away. 
I came to a meadow fresh and alive. It was surrounded sa pamamagitan ng a golden gate. Inside children were playing. But there was on child sitting alone. She was a little tan and a bit thin, but had thin, glowing blond hair. Her blue eyes looked into that a a kitten. The kitten in her lap was white, with patches of black. Its tail wagged and the girl caressed it. It's green eyes were locked on the girls eyes. 
I remembered the two! They were from my recurring dream, only, these versions looked nicer. I slowly approached them, and the kitten gave a warning meow to the girl as I came.
"uh... Who are you?" I asked carefully. 
The girl looked up and smiled sweetly, letting the kitten go.
"I'm Alaina, and this is sammy." She said.
Sammy cocked his head and meowed in confusion. 
I was going to ask another question, when I woke up to thunder.
"WHA?" amber yelled groggily, obviously mad at being awoken.
The other two were still asleep.
"I don't know how you guys can sleep, knowing private DIED." I said.
"you were snoring," amber called up. I watched her walk across the darkened room and grab a book off the shelf.
"which one now?" I asked, trying to brighten the mood.
"ten little Indians. A.K.A. And then there were none." she hopped back in kama and pretended to read, but I heard her snore. Purr actually. Amber purrs in her sleep sometimes. What's wrong with that chick. I flopped back down on my unan and stated at the ceiling for the rest of the night, silently cry over the loss of private, but on the inside, I was throwing a fit.

I woke up on the floor. I looks around the room. Everything was messed up. Like a tornado came in. Or Rico just rampaged overnight. I saw amber and kowalski under the table, shaking and shivering.
"guys?" I asked.
"skipper?" kowalski replied.
"your not dead?" amber rejoiced.
I shook my head and walked over to them.
"what happened?" I asked.
"earth quake." amber answered.
"you didn't feel all that? We tried to wake you, but you were Nawawala in a dream, apparently!" kowalski explained.
"and Rico's under the bookshelf. He propped it up against the table. Don't ask why."
I looked to my left and saw Rico's head poking out grin under the big bookcase. He was snoring loudly. I couldn't help thinking about on detail in my dream: the clods were almost black. And the children playing were creating havoc. It's like the dreams tell me what gonna happen!
