(skipper's pov, now.)
i woke up on a cold flat surface, unable to ilipat at all. i couldnt open one eye, and there was a gross taste in my mouth.
"HELLO?" i yelled. "AMBER? RICO? GUYS?"
silence
"ANYONE?"
a faint call, so far away i almost didnt hear it.
"HELLO? IS ANYONE THERE?"
"skipper? skipper?" it seemed even closer, and i could now here footsteps. but there was madami than one of them. two, no three.
"SKIPPER?" it called again, in it's smooth high tone.
"see 'im?" sinabi a panting, scratchy voice.
"no, but i was positive i heard him!" sinabi the higher voice.
then a moment of silence.
"no. why would you think that?" sinabi the low scratchy voice.
madami silence as they started walking again.
then one stopped, "WHAT? OH, HELL NO!" the higher voice.
"yeah, and IF he went rabid, i would just bite him back. no stupid sucker's gonna bite my fac off and chew it!"
i could see three shapes in the distance now, two of almost equal height, the other one a few inches shorter.
"whats that?" asked a voice, and i knew it had spotted me.
i saw the shorter figure ilipat slowly towdard me, stopping every now and then.
when the figure finally stood in the light, i could see who it was. macie.
woah, wait. slow down. macie made it? macie survived?
but how? she's so small and week and cant even see straight!
"who is it?" asked one of the taller figures. macie signed back what i think was my name.
"skipper?" blake came running into view.
:skipper!" devon came running right behind him.
I was glad to see they made it, but I hope they woUldt be a burden.
"can you move? Like, at all?" Blake asked.
Macie cocked her head.
I felt a little numb in the chest. I carefully bent my neck, and saw that one of my ribs had broken, and was poking out my chest.
I tried to stand up, but it took devin, Blake AND macie to help me stand, and Devon had to help me walk.
While we were walking, macke stopped short, listening. But all there was, were the sounds of wind on Rick and out in footsteps.
In a minute, she put her hands to get her, nodded twice, then made a wide bilog with her flippers.
"what? I don't hear anything." Devon said.
Then there was the unmistkeable sound of someone hacking up. At first I was puzzled- as well as grossed out- bu then I realized it was Rico.
"Rico!" I called.
Blake looked at me, then squinted into the distance. He started running to rico. Then I heard him hack something p again, followed sa pamamagitan ng some sort of slicing sound, and when I looked hard, I saw Blake on the ground, and a bloody kutsilyo in Rico's flipper. I knew Rico knew it was just Blake, but Blake didn't give him any warning, sO Rico must have gotten settled and slashed him. Or... No... That wasnt Rico... Was it?
