Because My Taste In Books Is Just That Awesome

It's easy to point out the negatives in the things we don't like. Likewise, it's also easy to point out the positives in those things which we love. Difficult, it is, to accept the positives in that which we hate, and the negatives in that which we enjoy. Today, I would like to point out to you solely the positives. And it's a good thing I like both things that I intend to praise because otherwise I might find this a difficult endevour to pursue.

In short, I'm gonna tell you what's good about both HP and Twi. These might seem a bit repetitive to you but, hey, great books must have something in common if their both so great (which these are =D!)

Eight Things I Like About Twilight

1) We have vampires. We have werewolves. We have half-breeds. Let's hear it for pantasiya fiction! If you don't like mythical creatures you should really make like a Hufflepuff and find yourself a new genre.
2) We have shimmering people. How epically awesome would it be if you could sparkle? I wish that I was that shiny...
3) The insight into Bella's thoughts (what with it being 1st person p.o.v. and all). I think it helps devolp the character's personality in your mind when you can see what's in theirs.
4) The plotline. Throughout the series we have love, close calls, revenge, violence, anticipation, pain, joy, rage, reunion... (Goodness, I sound like the grandpa at the beginning of "The Princess Bride" movie x))
5) It's very well written. Meyer put her own spin on the classic creatures like many authors before her; she didn't just try to remake Dracula. Also, she made it all seem so realistic, just the way I like my absurdly impossible pagbaba materials.
6) The series is not, as it has been sinabi before, just about Bella, Edward, Jacob, and their pag-ibig triangle. It's not just a saga of romance novels. It has humor. I pag-ibig humor. Alice, the pinagmulan of comic relief, when placed susunod to Edward, is sure to spark up an argument that shall have me laughing in no time. I pag-ibig Alice. X3
7) You can find bits of yourself in the characters. They're not painted as completely perfect people (or creatures, or whatever) even though Bella believes so at times. (see #5b)- They seem like they could actually be people, they don't seem fake and perfect.
8) The cars. There are some pretty darn pretty cars in those books. Volvos...

Eight Things I Like About Harry Potter

1) We have wizards. We have beasts. We have half-breeds. Let's hear it for pantasiya fiction! If you don't like mythical creatures you should really make like a Hufflepuff and find yourself a new genre.
2) They. Are. Magical. A flick of your wand, and you can get an ice cream cone from the kusina without getting up. Can you say "Awesome!!"?
3) Though it may not be 1st person, you still get to learn what Harry's thinking. It's like a tumawid between 1st and 3rd person. I'm sure there's a word for it I don't know.
4) The plotline. Throughout the series we have love, close calls, revenge, violence, anticipation, pain, joy, rage, reunion... (Goodness, I sound like the grandpa at the beginning of "The Princess Bride" movie x)) Am I getting repetative yet?
5) It's the well written tale of a boy who goes from pure innocence to maturity. Rowling beautifully tells a segment of a kid's life. (My point here is that it's written very nicely, unlike this point is.)
6) It may seem a saga of adventure novels, just violence and suspence, but the theme of the book is much madami than that. Harry learns on his trek through the years at Hogwarts that love, family, friends, and the like is what you need most to survive. The theme of the books is love. Good vs. Evil.
7) You can relate to the characters in Harry's story as well. It's quite easy indeed to see bits of yourself in Harry, no matter your age or gender. Even though they are magical witches and wizards, they still seem so real as well.
8) They're transportation. They. Are. Magical. Need to pick something up from the store? No problem. Just go to the cleaning closet. Or hey, hop into the fireplace. Oh, you don't need to go to all that trouble, just turn around! You're there in seconds. Goodness me, you don't know how many times I've wished I could apparate.

So there you go. Those are only a few of the things I pag-ibig from two series I love. None of the points from each listahan are being taken in comparasion to the other series, as this would not prove to be either true or profitible to my point. Thank you. I hope you enjoyed and did not perish while you were reading, as I don't happen to have any morgues on me at the moment.

The Cullens are weird. Not in a vampiric sense but in common sense. They are trying to stay camouflaged but they keep failing. Lets review, shall we?

1. They go to high school over and over again. They try to blend in with the other non-sparkly, non-Adonis(y), non-vampiry and nonsensical humans. Aside from this, they pout in the cafeteria during lunch hour. Why? They could just eat their lunch elsewhere. They don't eat, so it's unlikely that no one has noticed them not eating.

2. High school is a crowded place. People keep bumping into each other at some point. Let's say the Cullens are very...

I see a lot of Twiight fans arguing the same points over and over again, and frankly, they have no idea what they're talkinng about.

First I'd like to point out:

Some Twilight fans are saying that they are confused with Harry Potter because they haven't read the books and the pelikula don't explain clearly enough. Well, guess what, that does not make Twilight better than Harry Potter, it is not out fault you haven't read Harry Potter. When we argue Harry Potter vs. Twilight I was under the impression that we were including both books and movies, not just the movies. So the fact that your confused...

I suspect I'm not the only one, am I? XD...... Anyways, you know you're obsessed with Bellatrix when....
Credit: Me Myself and I

1. You throw away all of your hairbrushes.

2. You wear at least some black every day.

3. You rip your clothes on purpose.

4. You call people you don't like "filthy mudbloods".

5. You yell "CRUCIO!" at people when you get mad.

6. You carry knives on your person

7. Your desktop background and screensaver are of Bellatrix.

8. Whenever you're typing a word that starts with a "B" or an "L", you accidentally type out a Bellatrix or a Lestrange instead.

9. You think her birthday should...

I found this online. It's a real conversation a bookstore employee apparently had with a Twilight fan. It didn't happen to me. I found it funny, thought you guys might too.

(A customer in her late teens approaches me in the bookstore.)
Customer: “Hey, do you guys sell the Twilight books?”
Me: “Yes, they’re right over there.”
Customer: “Have you read them?”
Me: “Yes, I have.”
Customer: “Didn’t you just pag-ibig them?!”
Me: “Well, actually, they aren’t really my type of book, so–”
Customer: *suddenly furious* “Are you f***ing serious?! These are the best books ever written! I’m going to tell Edward to come and bite you and drink all your blood!”
Me: *backing away* “Have a nice day, ma’am…”

I was thinking about difference in Harry Potter and Twilight background and this is what I concluded. Enjoy!

Knowledge of magical beings not soo very far from their backyards
Harry Potter: As I can get from HP books and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, wizarding world was known to Muggles, but because of witch hunt and victims of it in both sides, wizard decided to go underground and not to be commonly know to people. They don`t use spells in front of Muggles and if sombody does manage to discover their secret, they erase their memory.
However, there are exeptions. Families of Mugle-borns ofcourse...

THIS IS JUST MY PERSONALL OPINION, FEEL FREE TO DISAGREE, THIS IS JUST WHAT I THINK, NOT THE ENTIRE POPULATION OF TWILIGHT FANS. SO PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION!!!!!!

Thank you.

Just so you know, this is a Twilight tagahanga speaking.

Twilight may NOT be the best book ever, i didnt say that it was (keep that in mind), when i read it, i saw alot of flaws, like in breaking dawn, Meyer made it clear that vamps cant inject sperm, and yet, somehow Bella got pregnant. I've read this artikulo sa pamamagitan ng XDRoseLuvsHP, and i totaly agree. I believe that People like Twilight madami thatn HP because it...

For all of you who don't know this, but I am an ex-Twilight fan. This my own personal opinion based on my personal experience with the series. For all of the Twilight fans who may be pagbaba this right now, you have been warned. So here I go:

When in the course of normal, non-brainwashed leader events, it becomes necessary to dissolve the addiction of the highly “popular” teen-craving novel which have been oppressive to the efforts to differentiate the normal and the abnormal pantasiya to which people, generally females, dreamed of, decent respect to the creativity based on the author's dream...

It has a PLOT! It has Subplots. It has several characters with depth.JK is not afraid to sacrifice the good guys. The characters aren't one dementional. JK researches her material, has good use of Latin and history within her books. Spells are named after Latin words and do what the Latin words do. Names of soem characters give hints as to what that character is such as Sirius which means Dog bituin for madami Albus which means White (pure wizard). You can relate Harry Potter to WWII because of similarities you could learn some history from the books.
Harry Potter teaches a good deal about prejudice...

Okay this is madami of an opinion, since my view of the activity is based off opinion.

Now whenever someone posts something on the internet and someone else responds negatively to it, they respond in the same way to that person. In a very negative tone. This is in fact what I see at times in forums.

First Twilight and Harry Potter fans, if you post anything on the internet, whether they are opinions or facts, you have responsibilities with it. You are exposing yourself to others in the internet. You are responsible for the positive or negative replies. So don't blame others for your actions....
