Because My Taste In Books Is Just That Awesome

It's easy to point out the negatives in the things we don't like. Likewise, it's also easy to point out the positives in those things which we love. Difficult, it is, to accept the positives in that which we hate, and the negatives in that which we enjoy. Today, I would like to point out to you solely the positives. And it's a good thing I like both things that I intend to praise because otherwise I might find this a difficult endevour to pursue.

In short, I'm gonna tell you what's good about both HP and Twi. These might seem a bit repetitive to you but, hey, great books must have something in common if their both so great (which these are =D!)

Eight Things I Like About Twilight

1) We have vampires. We have werewolves. We have half-breeds. Let's hear it for pantasiya fiction! If you don't like mythical creatures you should really make like a Hufflepuff and find yourself a new genre.
2) We have shimmering people. How epically awesome would it be if you could sparkle? I wish that I was that shiny...
3) The insight into Bella's thoughts (what with it being 1st person p.o.v. and all). I think it helps devolp the character's personality in your mind when you can see what's in theirs.
4) The plotline. Throughout the series we have love, close calls, revenge, violence, anticipation, pain, joy, rage, reunion... (Goodness, I sound like the grandpa at the beginning of "The Princess Bride" movie x))
5) It's very well written. Meyer put her own spin on the classic creatures like many authors before her; she didn't just try to remake Dracula. Also, she made it all seem so realistic, just the way I like my absurdly impossible pagbaba materials.
6) The series is not, as it has been sinabi before, just about Bella, Edward, Jacob, and their pag-ibig triangle. It's not just a saga of romance novels. It has humor. I pag-ibig humor. Alice, the pinagmulan of comic relief, when placed susunod to Edward, is sure to spark up an argument that shall have me laughing in no time. I pag-ibig Alice. X3
7) You can find bits of yourself in the characters. They're not painted as completely perfect people (or creatures, or whatever) even though Bella believes so at times. (see #5b)- They seem like they could actually be people, they don't seem fake and perfect.
8) The cars. There are some pretty darn pretty cars in those books. Volvos...

Eight Things I Like About Harry Potter

1) We have wizards. We have beasts. We have half-breeds. Let's hear it for pantasiya fiction! If you don't like mythical creatures you should really make like a Hufflepuff and find yourself a new genre.
2) They. Are. Magical. A flick of your wand, and you can get an ice cream cone from the kusina without getting up. Can you say "Awesome!!"?
3) Though it may not be 1st person, you still get to learn what Harry's thinking. It's like a tumawid between 1st and 3rd person. I'm sure there's a word for it I don't know.
4) The plotline. Throughout the series we have love, close calls, revenge, violence, anticipation, pain, joy, rage, reunion... (Goodness, I sound like the grandpa at the beginning of "The Princess Bride" movie x)) Am I getting repetative yet?
5) It's the well written tale of a boy who goes from pure innocence to maturity. Rowling beautifully tells a segment of a kid's life. (My point here is that it's written very nicely, unlike this point is.)
6) It may seem a saga of adventure novels, just violence and suspence, but the theme of the book is much madami than that. Harry learns on his trek through the years at Hogwarts that love, family, friends, and the like is what you need most to survive. The theme of the books is love. Good vs. Evil.
7) You can relate to the characters in Harry's story as well. It's quite easy indeed to see bits of yourself in Harry, no matter your age or gender. Even though they are magical witches and wizards, they still seem so real as well.
8) They're transportation. They. Are. Magical. Need to pick something up from the store? No problem. Just go to the cleaning closet. Or hey, hop into the fireplace. Oh, you don't need to go to all that trouble, just turn around! You're there in seconds. Goodness me, you don't know how many times I've wished I could apparate.

So there you go. Those are only a few of the things I pag-ibig from two series I love. None of the points from each listahan are being taken in comparasion to the other series, as this would not prove to be either true or profitible to my point. Thank you. I hope you enjoyed and did not perish while you were reading, as I don't happen to have any morgues on me at the moment.

Ok, well I'm going to be perfectly respectful in this artikulo because I don't want to make anyone mad, I just want to make a point. If you agree or disagree with it, that's up to you. Please don't be rude inthe comment section, and give reasons for opinions. Thanks!

Now I can start. May I just start sa pamamagitan ng saying that I am on the Harry Potter side (with all due respect to Twilight fans)

I've noticed that one of the things Twilight fans say is that Bella is a madami relatable character than Harry. I think that that is a good point because technically, you can be a normal teenager who goes to school...

Some people (not necessarily Americans) have admitted having trouble with the British words in Harry Potter. To solve this problem, I give you...An Americans Guide to British words!

1) Prat
Someone who is described as being dumb or self centered. Usually acts against logic.
e.x. Jeez, Roldolfo is such a prat!

2) Git
Basically, a jerk. Shallow and/or childish.
e.x. Look at that git, strutting around like he owns the place!

3) Err...
The British equivalent of umm...
e.x. "Errr.... is it 42?"

4) Barmy
Insane/Crazy.
e.x. That old mans gone barmy!

5.) Blast
Equivalent to "Dang!"
e.x. Blast! Some git's taken...

Twihards or Rabid fans (thats obsessive Twilight fans, all of you): Don't read this. I don't want to get mauled or drowned.
I apologize for any spelling or grammar errors.
Don't get me wrong- I like Twilight just fine. However, many parts of it really annoyed me. Here are my reasons why I liked Harry Potter better.

1. Characters.
Lets compare:
Lead female role in HP: Hermione Granger. Flaws: a bit nerdy, Know-it-all, and Bossy. Good traits: Stood up for herself (as well as think for herself), worked against racism (for house-elves), was loyal to Harry at all times, and didn't try to kill herself...

I Speedy Gonzalez did not write this I merely copied and pasted it. The original may be found link.

I got Breaking Dawn on the araw that it came out and was hoping that Meyer would somehow redeem the steadily deteriorating quality of the Twilight series. What a huge disappointment. I was even madami disappointed when I found out how Meyer was responding to the criticism towards it. Then I discovered that she was Pagsulat Midnight Sun. I looked pasulong to that because, even though all of the books suck, they are a guilty pleasure and Twilight was the best of all of them. Then she stopped writing...

Dear friends,
This is my first attempt at Pagsulat a creative article. I've attempted the facebook page of HP, and hope you like it. Sorry for the lame humor, it's my very first time. Thanks for reading, and please drop in your comments, because I need your opinion. Thanks again.

Now to anyone of the teensy-beensy minority that has never heard of Twilight's male protagonist, Edward Cullen, he supposedly a vampire that falls in deep "love" with a human girl named Bella.

Now I must object to this paglalarawan of the Edward and Bella (Edella or Bedward, lol). While the relationship is described as being true love, I personally think that the relationship is any BUT deep, true love. It is, in my, along with many other fanpoppers, opinion that this relationship is extraordinarily unhealthy and codependent, and that Edward's supposed "love" is obsessive love.

Obsessive love:...

Today, I read a post from "youknowit101" on "1000 Reason why Twilight is better than harry Potter", and it completley gave me segundo thoughts about this whole thing between the rival series. According to this guy, he is very ashamed at the HP fans for attacking the Twilight fans and how immature they are, and to be honest, I now couldn't agree more. He's right, HP fans, we are the immature ones, not the Twilighters. We Potterheads are taking HP for granted and using it to rub it in other people's faces.

Now I see why Twilight fans barley respond to the debates and articles, and it's because...
