Harry Potter Tanong

was anyone else annoyed that...

Young Lily has BROWN eyes and Harry has BLUE?

we got over the fact Harry didnt have green eyes and intead has blue but the fact the WHOLE point of snape saying "look at me, you have your mothers eyes..." was that he did have his mothers eyes, except he doesnt as the scene immediately following it has a close up of Lily with dark dark brown eyes grrrr
*
edit: i dont normally get hung up on little details like this in pelikula and i do get that to some its a little detail but its one little detail that is essential to the story!! go back and watch the films and see how many times charaters say "you have your mothers eyes"- even in the movie Dumbledore says to snape "her son survives... he has her eyes" this being one of the major reasons he agrees to protect harry, then to see their eyes are nothing alike...!

Harry Potter Sagot

I don't think people should get too hung up on little things like that. It's a movie. Things like that happen all the time. It's not a big deal.

Except that this is NOT a little thing. This is a HUGE thing and it is essential to the story. I was annoyed sa pamamagitan ng that as well. I mean, slap some green contacts on them for heaven's sake.

I just can't believe that all Harry Potter fans aren't annoyed sa pamamagitan ng this ... it is not a little thing. How many times do characters mention that Harry has his mother's eyes? Yet another major failure on the part of the movie makers.

I'm sorry for sounding so aggressive - I'm just so disappointed in how much the pelikula ripped apart the wonderful essence of the books.

It was meant to have slapped contact lenses on the girl's eyes, not Dan's.

No, because older Lily had blue eyes.

It is possible for people's eyes to change color as they get older. I know teenage Lily wasn't in the movie, but if I remember right, the girl they cast had blue (ish) eyes.

they wouldnt change from dark brown to blue... besides it was young lily snape fell in pag-ibig with

I don't see why they wouldn't. My boyfriends went from blue to brown. It only makes sense it could (and would) go in reverse.

It doesn't really matter which one he fell in pag-ibig with. If teenage and adult Lily had blue eyes, and Harry had blue eyes, his still have his mother's eyes.

When you look at a person in a movie, most of the time you don't look at their eyes so it's not that big of a deal.

You mean in the last movie ? I had already asked that tanong here. Indeed. On something as important as that detail throughout the whole series, well, they could have cast a little girl with the proper eye color.

As much little Severus was right on, as much I was a bit surprised... above all after Severus had told Harry "You have your mother's eyes" just before he died.

I didn't understood how they could have missed something like this. I remember in PoA, Sirius telling Harry "You have your mother's eyes. Remus did the same too.

Maybe I'm too much observant but I do pay attention to this kind of details when I read or watch something.

i agree- since it was a plot point and the reason snape agrees to protect harry- when dumbledore tells him "he has her eyes" ...and then when we see young lily who snape fell in pag-ibig with and see she doesnt have the same eyes at all!

And the way Alan Rickman played Severus, I've noticed too that each time he looks at Harry to scold him, he first has a split segundo or so when he seems to see only Lily's eyes in the boy, before seeing again James' face in Harry. Yes, I pay attention to that kind of details so young Lily with brown eyes kinda bugged me.

I didn't really notice, to be honest. I guess that is kinda annoying. But I think there were alot of things that were much bigger that were ignored in the movie. Seems a little trivial compared to other things.
