After seeing this link which happened to tooch and a few other incidents, I think it's high time for me to write a guide for the Paramore spot. Well, generally, all the Paramore-related spots and clubs.
I'm going to touch on 3 topics in this article:
1. Image crediting
2. Keywords
3. Repeated contents
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
1. IMAGE CREDITING
Please take some time to read this link sa pamamagitan ng misanthrope86.
Or this link sa pamamagitan ng DrDevience.
OR this link sa pamamagitan ng Cinders on plagiarism.
If you don't know what the Image credit section is for, well, that section is to give credits/praise/recognition to the people who took the photo/screencap and those who made the fanart/wallpaper.
A BAD example of image crediting:
eryfjfuj is not an image credit. It's... NONSENSE.
An example of correct image crediting:
So take a look at the image above, notice the name Kieran Frost at the image credit section? That shows that I'm giving credits and recognition to the photographer of the photo, Kieran Frost, which also shows that Kieran Frost is the one who took the litrato and not ME!
If you've posted a fanart, give credits to the artist of the fanart.
If you've posted a screencap, well, you can give credits to yourself if you're the one who took the screencap. Better still, give credits to the producer of the video.
For example, the music video for Misery Business was produced sa pamamagitan ng the Warner Music Group. So give credits to the Warner Music Group!
Okey, what if you don't know who to credit?
a. Google and Wikipedia are your best friends.
Example: If you don't know whose name to put in the image credit for the Pressure screencaps you've posted, use Google to find the producer of the music video or you can always check Wikipedia.
b. "I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHO TO CREDIT!!!'
If you have seriously do not know whom to credit, be nice and put a link to the original image in the comments.
*whiny voice* "WHY SHOULD I GIVE CREDITS? IT'S NOT THAT IMPORTANT!"
If that is what you think, then I'll feel really sorry for you when you're charged with plagiarism one day. :( Keep in mind that photographers and artists have feelings too! Would you like it when a litrato that you've taken ends up in somewhere else and that person who stole your image did not give credits to you or gave credits to him/herself?
I wouldn't like that at all.
2. KEYWORDS
This is a BAD EXAMPLE OF KEYWORDING:
The keywords section are there for you to fill up. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE IT BLANK!
Here's a GOOD EXAMPLE OF KEYWORDING:
So, this is exactly the SAME picture like the one before. Compare the keywords in both the photos.
Michelle121094 put "paramore, hayley williams, jeremy davis, taylor swift" as the keywords, where else luly98 did not put any keywords at all!
*groans* "Why the hell should I do that?"
Simple. To benefit YOU and the other Fanpoppers. Let's just say if you want to paghahanap for an image that you've posted, you can paghahanap for that particular picture with the correct keyword in the paghahanap toolbar.
Example: Now I want to find that picture of the Paramore band members and Taylor Swift- the exact image above. So I type: paramore taylor swift in the paghahanap toolbar.
CAN YOU SEE IT? Take a look at the litrato at the bottom part of the image above. The litrato posted sa pamamagitan ng Michelle121094, comes out in the paghahanap results. But the litrato posted sa pamamagitan ng lulu98 didn't! Why? Because of the keywords! Do you see the importance of keywords now? I hope you do.
Remember to put proper and useful keywords when you post an image. Do not just put "paramore" as your image's keyword. There's no use if you do so since ALL THE IMAGES in the Paramore gallery are ALL PARAMORE-RELATED.
Example:
You see Hayley Williams, Taylor matulin and Jeremy Davis in the photo. Then, put all of their names in the keywords section. You know the araw that litrato was taken was Josh Farro's wedding, so put "josh farro, wedding" in the keywords section too.
BE madami SPECIFIC WHEN GIVING KEYWORDS! :)
3. REPEATED CONTENTS *headdesk*
I see this...
and I see this AGAIN the susunod day...
REPEATED CONTENTS ARE NOT COOL.
Well, they're outdated so to speak. Since someone has already posted the picture, why post it again? Not only it takes up space, it's also unnecessary.
IDK about the others but if a picture that I've posted is reposted AGAIN sa pamamagitan ng a fellow fanpopper, I'll be... annoyed. I mean-seriously, what's the point of reposting it again??
AND NOW THAT'S WHY... USE THE paghahanap TOOBAR.
It's there for YOU! To make sure that the content (pick, image, video, link, quiz, question, forum...) that you're about to post has not yet been posted, use the Fanpop paghahanap toolbar [look up... there's a grey toolbar with the term "Search Club'] to check.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTE: I understand if you didn't know that a content has already been posted before or you made a mistake and you forgot to give image credits and keywords... Everyone makes mistakes. I've made these mistakes many times as well, so I've been trying to perfect my Internet etiquette as well.
But please... DO MAKE AN EFFORT to follow the guidelines when you're contributing to the spot.
If anyone (including me) has told you that a particular contribution of yours has already been posted or you left the keywords and credit section blank...
"To err is human, to forgive is divine."
Don't be upset! There's no need to, really. All that we (especially me) want is for the spot be neat, tidy and in order. Just correct your mistake and everything else is fine. ♥
Thank you for pagbaba and remember to follow the guidelines! =)
