can you catch mew in pokemon pearl without cheats

I don't think you can but if you have a wii and download My Pokemon Ranch and get it too its highest level you trade an egg for Mew and just connect you ds too the Wii and withdraw it then you have a Mew
I think that is the only way without cheating
But I believe you can't catch one in the wild or sa pamamagitan ng event
