So, I’m going to a Pokémon tournament tomorrow, and it’s really confusing. This is to help out anyone who wants to go to one, but has NO clue what to do. Every time I go to a different kind of tournament, I’ll edit. This is for card game ONLY. Without further ado, how to prepare for a Pokémon tournament.
Prerelease:
1.    Bring a 3ds.
Now, this is for waiting for the tournament to start. You could bring a book or something as well, but I prefer something you can play Pokémon on.
2.    Bring extra money.
This is always a good idea. When I went, there was a little mesa to buy merchandise. I honestly think this is a good way to buy sleeves for your deck if you don’t have any.
3.    The decks.
Okay, this is probably the most confusing part, cuz every tournament is different. For the prerelease, you don’t need to bring a deck or deck list. The will give you six prerelease booster packs. With these, you will open them, and make a forty card deck. This deck will be a mixture of your new cards, and some borrowed energy that you will return at the end of the tournament.
4.    Trading.
So basically, you can bring your own cards for trading, or trade your new ones. You can only trade after the tournament.
5.    Extra stuffs.
Bring: Clear dice, damage counters and a coin.
The dice can be to use as a coin, or as damage counters. They must be clear, for reasons that I don’t know. The damages counters are a little trickier to use then dice, but it’s a good Idea to have ones for status. Need I explain the coin?
6: Dress the part.
There are two kinds of trainers. The ones that pag-ibig to dress the part, and take it very seriously well having fun, and those who just ipakita up. I myself enjoy to dress like a trainer myself. Now, that said, don’t go wearing a Disney world style Pikachu costume, or spent hundreds of dollars on a cosplay. I simply wear a Pokémon hat, shirt, and my own little trainer outfit. A Pokémon trainer can wear anything! I think they mostly have the following: A hat, a pokeball somewhere on their outfit, and a bag or sinturon to hold there Pokémon.

Hello again! I just came back from a tournament. It was a bust cuz I had no idea about the STUPID NEW CARDS ONLY RULE!!! Anyway, heres what you need for a league challenge.

P.s Sreps 1, 6, 5 and 2 apply to all tournaments.

3.Be ready.
So, when I went, I had to wait like half a oras before I sat down. So basically, be prepared to stand for a while.

4. THE STUPIDEST RULE EVER!!!!!!!!
Okay, so I got kicked out of the tournament for this. For some weird reason, you may only use cards from Black and white or newer. On the same note, no prerealse cards either.

5.Decklist.
Okay, this is a little complicated. Well, not really. So, you can print of a decklist template, or get one from the tournament. You must write the names of all your cards, and how many you have of each. The pokemon, you also need the set name, and colectors number. For the energy, you also need wether or not it's a basic, or a special.
