Hello, Pokemon fans. Just to let you know that Pokemon is NOT a video game franchise. Yep, that's my opinion. So feel free to disagree.
As you may know that Pokemon is not a video game franchise. Pokemon is an anime and manga franchise. I know alot of you people call Pokemon, a video game franchise. But to me, it doesn't and therefore, Pokemon isn't a video game franchise. Why you asked? Pokemon started an anime/manga franchise as a video game for GameBoy. You know Pokemon Red and Green which came out in Hapon in 1996. Yeah, that's why. Wheras most anime and manga franchises like Bleach started their anime and manga franchises with a manga, Pokemon started its own anime and manga franchise with a Nintendo GameBoy game that is made sa pamamagitan ng Nintendo. Nintendo is the same company who brought us Nintendo systems like GameBoy Advance and Wii U as well as Nintendo franchises like Mario and Kirby.
Pokemon isn't the only anime and manga franchise that started off with the games, Monster Rancher started off with the games. Like Pokemon, Monster Rancher is not a video game franchise despit Monster Rancher goes sa pamamagitan ng video games. Monster Rancher is an anime and manga franchise. Therefore, Monster Rancher games are anime and manga licensed games. The same applies to Pokemon. In the music business, Taylor matulin is a pop artist. Taylor matulin started for pop music career in 2006 with a different genre like country music. Then later on, Taylor matulin begin making pop music as soon as her segundo album, Fearless released in 2008. Since 2008, Taylor matulin has slowly transitioned to pop sa pamamagitan ng the mid 2010s just like Pokemon has transitioned from a Nintendo game for GameBoy to an anime and mange franchise sa pamamagitan ng the late 90s.
As you may know that Pokemon is the rarest anime and manga franchise of the whole anime and manga franchise phenomenal - Pokemon is an anime and manga franchise that crossed over from the segundo best selling video game franchise of all time to the world's largest mainstream anime and manga franchise worldwide. Doraemon is still the biggest anime and manga franchise in Japan. But in the US, Pokemon is the largest anime and manga franchise in the US since 1998. While most anime and manga franchises like One Piece either has been struggled for unknown reasons or only marketed in Japan, Pokemon carefully always becoming an anime and manga franchise with the help of Nintendo. sa pamamagitan ng the late 90s, Pokemon has shed off its video game franchise marketing as soon as Pokemon peaked the US popularity sa pamamagitan ng 1999. sa pamamagitan ng 2002, Pokemon no longer goes sa pamamagitan ng video game franchise. Pokemon games like Pokemon ginto and Silver are officially anime and manga licensed games in history. Pokemon games are no longer video game franchise games.
Pokemon games are the only licensed games that started off with the franchise's licensed games themselves before the whole franchise itself was just getting started. Pokemon video games are the only licensed video games that sell all video game franchises expect Mario like Sonic The Hedgehog and The Legend Of Zelda. Only Mario outsell Pokemon licensed games. Pokemon video games are NOT real video games. Pokemon video games are licensed video games. Pokemon games are the only licensed games that outsold every other licensed games like movie based video games (Boo!) and Disney video games. Pokemon games are the only anime and manga licensed games that outsold every other anime and manga licensed games like Digimon games. This makes Pokemon games the best selling licensed games of all time.
Pokemon video games are also the only licensed games that all of the franchise's licensed games are published sa pamamagitan ng Nintendo as Pokemon is Nintendo's third party acquisition. Speaking of Nintendo, the reason Pokemon needs Nintendo is because Pokemon's anime and manga franchise company, The Pokemon Company, is an independent company. That's why Nintendo will be the video game company for publishing Pokemon licensed video games thanks to Nintendo owning Pokemon's trademarks just to play it safe. Without Nintendo, there won't be any video game company that ilathala Pokemon games as third parties like Capcom had no faith on Pokemon games. So Pokemon needs Nintendo in order to keep Pokemon video games alive in the end. With Nintendo owning Pokemon trademarks, Pokemon makes a special guest in Super Smash Bros.
OK then, let's talk about why Pokemon is a different anime and manga franchise. Here we go. Pokemon's creator, Satoshi Tajiri, wanted to make an anime and manga franchise that started off with the Nintendo GameBoy video games where people can use the link cable to trade the anime and manga franchise characters between the 2 GameBoy systems. That anime and manga franchise is Pokemon.
So in 1990, Satoshi Tajiri will be making Pokemon for GameBoy. As GameFreak develops Pokemon in 1990 as Capsule Monsters, Pokemon development took 5 and a half years to make before Pokemon Red and Green was finished sa pamamagitan ng late 1995 and Pokemon Red and Green released on February 27, 1996. sa pamamagitan ng late 1996, Pokemon Red and Green sold 10 million copies in Hapon making it the best selling anime and manga licensed games in Japan.
The anime was soon followed in 1997 and the anime was the world's biggest anime for nearly 20 years with madami than 900 episodes and Pokemon is the biggest dub anime worldwide when Pokemon first released in the US in 1998. Pokemon has over 15 pelikula making Pokemon pelikula the only anime pelikula where all the anime pelikula in the series were dubbed in the US. The first 5 Pokemon pelikula released in theaters across the US between 1999 and 2003. Then the post US theatrical run Pokemon pelikula (Jirachi Wishmaker-Hoopa and the Clash of Ages) were aired on TV (Jirachi Wishmaker and Lucario and the Mystery Of Mew were released straight to DVD instead). These Pokemon pelikula (Destiny Deoxys-Hoopa and the Clash of Ages) not named Lucario and the Mystery of Mew were aired on Cartoon Network (Destiny Deoxys aired on Kids WB in January 2005 instead).
Then after 5 Pokemon generations between 1996 (1998 in the US) and 2012, Pokemon has finally become the world's largest anime and manga franchise and sa pamamagitan ng 2013, Pokemon has now belonged to the anime and manga franchise realm where it belongs when Pokemon X and Y released for Nintendo 3DS on October 12 worldwide. Pokemon video games like Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire are officially licensed video games as Pokemon is no longer a video game franchise. Pokemon is now an anime and manga franchise forever as Pokemon games are Pokemon licensed games. Pokemon games are not video game franchise games anymore. Pokemon games are Pokemon licensed products forever.
There you have it, that's why Pokemon is an anime and manga franchise. Simple as that. I know alot of people call Pokemon a video game franchise. In my opinion, it's not. I hope Pokemon will be marketed as an anime and manga franchise. Keep in mind that Pokemon changed its franchise classification from video game franchise to anime and manga franchise does NOT affect Nintendo published Pokemon games or Pokemon's video game industry. The change/transition has to do the with whole Pokemon franchise itself. So madala in that. I hope enjoy pagbaba my artikulo about why Pokemon is an anime and manga franchise, not a video game franchise.
