I was finally called down for dinner. I got out of my kama and went downstairs into the kitchen. I noticed how strange this was... My half sister and my step sister living together. They don't even know each other. They're complete strangers. Kind of like the whole roommate thing people do.
I sat down in my seat. Today was Friday, which meant homemade French foods, since Brooke's side of the family came from France.
"Where's LaToya?" my father asked me.
"She went to KFC to get some chicken," I explained. "She sinabi French pagkain doesn't have enough meat."
"Of course," my father sighed. "She gets that from her mother's side of the family. I swear." Every bad trait we have my dad would blame it on our moms. It's quite funny because most of the time the traits are really from his side.
Brooke and her mother sat each of our karneng hiniwa frites, or just karneng hiniwa with fries, in front of us. Then they gave us eau, which was just water, and they set a basket of baguette, which was bread. They then sat down at the table.
We blessed the food, and then we started eating. "Reagen has a little something to say, guys," Brooke brought up after her first bite of the steak. I almost spit out my eau of her mentioning it.
"What do you want to share, sweetheart?" my dad asked.
I didn't really want to share, but since Brooke decided to bring it up, I guess there was no backing out of it now. "I got invited to go to a basketbol game tomorrow..." I mumbled as I picked at my fries.
"Can you repeat that a little louder..?" my step mother suggested sweetly.
"I got invited to go to a basketbol game tomorrow," I repeated a little louder.
"Oh, did one of your "girlfriends" ask you to go with them?" my dad questioned, referring to my mga kaibigan that as girls.
"Actually a guy asked her," Brooke answered while cutting herself a section of the baguette.
My dad spit out his karneng hiniwa hearing the word "guy" coming out of Brooke's mouth. "A GUY?!" he yelled.
"Dad, we're not doing anything sexual. All I'm doing is watching him play basketball," I told him calmly. "Plus, he's a nice guy. And if he ever tried to make a ilipat on me, I know who to go to." I was hinting I would go to him to kick Terrence's butt.
"Okay..... I do trust you..... Your quite an intelligent girl...." my father considered.
"And reserved," Brooke added.
"Will you need a ride to the basketbol game, sweetheart?" he requested.
"No. I can walk," I insisted.
We started eating again, this time with no interruptions from Brooke.
After dinner, I went upstairs and showered. I then went to my room and put on my regular kama clothes: a black tank tuktok and red plaid shorts, with my hair in pigtails. I went back to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Then I went back to my room and finally went into my bed, cuddling up to one of my stuffed bears. I closed my eyes and fell asleep, excited for Terrence's basketbol game.
