Have you ever wonder what it was like to live in a tree? With wings and thousands of brothers and sisters? Have you ever wanted to fly?
Minna's POV
My name is Minna Skye. I'm 7 years old and really sick at the moment. Every fairy/butterfly will get what I've got at age 7. Its the start of your paruparo life.
Some mga paru-paro will get this in reverse. This would be the start of their fairy lives. You know how caterpillars turn into butterflies? Well us mga engkanto skip that and go right to transformation. I'm starting to grow the face and it HURTS! My face has at least 10 scars ipinapakita my face is changing. I have to put some nasty smelling gel on my face to have it feel better. Of course, my twin sister, Mensky, is having her fairy wings and facial parts growing in. I think mga paru-paro have it hard too. I'm just glad I wasn't a little tiny thing when I was born. Nebrask, our father, is right now doing his monthly fly. He flies every buwan with my best friend, Biscut's, father. I'm pretty mad because she doesn't have to go through this yet. After all, she is 10.
I was getting ready to attend Fliary's School for Hybrids. My older brother, MikAndy or Mike, has to go with me while Mensky stays tahanan all day.
Fliary's School is very educational and helpful. Its been on the news that this school is the number 1 school in the world! How amazing? In order to get it, you have to be 6 years old, know how to cast at least 7 spells, be a hybrid, and have a skill. I know I can do this.
Being me is not the easiest. I am one of the advanced students so I have to be in the advanced class with Dr. Maruall. He is the most strict teacher out there.
Dr. Maruall teaches 3 of 10 classes. I'm not very happy he teaches me Hybrids 101, English and Art. He is talented but strict. I also have Ms. Redy, shes a very nice teacher who teaches Spanish and History. Then, Mr. Bennett. He teaches every other class I didn't mention.
The most embarrassing thing about our school, its for hybrids and... you can grow your wings at ANYTIME! Biscut got her wings in 6th period class and didn't feel a thing! That lucky girl...
Principal Hula made a rule saying if you feel pain, go to the nurse. The only problem with that is, you can only go twice per semester and theres three semesters. One per season, except winter. Why we don't have school in the winter is NOT a bad thing. We have to fly south before the snow arrives, therefore, no school in session.
"Hey Minna?" I heard Marti's voice.
"Um.. hi?" I sinabi leaning on my locker.
"You too huh?" He rubbed his face, revealing scars under his eyes.
"Yeah.. it hurts allot." I replied.
"It does." He sighed. "Can't wait until the segundo semester!"
"Me neither. I finally get to have different teachers." I smiled a bit.
Marti and I aren't very... close friends... There was one night where at the Halloween dance, we got a little out of control and.. our friendship ended there. We are on the verge of being mga kaibigan again.
"So I'll see you later?" He asked, grinning.
"Yeah, see you later." I smiled back.
He kissed my cheek and walked away.
"Girl, was was that?!" Ugh, here comes Mike...
"I don't know." I shrugged and walked away.
I think Marti and I still have that weird feeling.
-Age 13-
"Well Marti, I'm impressed." Dr. Maruall sinabi with a hint of happiness. "This is one of the best papers I've seen ALL DAY!" He smiled.
"Thank you sir, I'm pretty sure that you are satisfied." Marti sat down in his navy blue chair susunod to me.
"Minna, may I see your paper on Hybrids." Dr. Maruall asked.
"Yes sir." I replied and got out my seat.
"Hmm.. mmhmm.. yes.. oh yes... mm.." Some people laughed. Immature babies. "Shut up." Dr. Maruall muttered, loud enough for the class to hear.
I sighed, still waiting for his reply.
"Minna, I'm... shocked. I've seen you do allot better. This is one of the worse papers you've written all semester."
"Are you kidding me?!" I nearly yelled. "That paper took me days to write! I stayed up all night just to make sure it was great. And this is the worse?!"
"Minna, calm down." I felt Marti's hand on my shoulder. What the...
"Minna Skye, do you have any idea what your doing?" Dr. Maruall asked with complete shock.
"Apparently, yes I do!" I hissed.
Then, pain. In my back. It did hurt.
"Now look... at what.. you've done!" I wheezed out.
I looked around at everyone in the class, mostly boys. Some of them were shocked, others were drooling, some of the girls looked with jealousy.
"What now?" I stood up.
"Woah..." Marti looked at me. "Your madami beautiful than I thought..."
I groaned and walked to the back of the class and looked at myself.
"Oh my god.." I looked at my completely pale body. My wings were as clear as an icicle and a pretty bright blue. My feet were perfectly pointed and my eyes glittered in the light.
[Her picture is the segundo picture at bottom]
"Get her out of here.." Dr. Maruall said.
"Come on." I heard Marti and walked along with him to the nurse.
"Why am I like this?" I asked Marti. "Why can't we just be like regular mga engkanto or butterflies? You know? Less to worry about.." I rubbed my pale, cold cheek.
"Minna, I know it's a difficult thing. I understand that, but according to my research, hybrids have less to worry about rather than mga paru-paro or fairies."
"How?" I asked him. Stopping facing him.
He looked up and down at me. "Well, mga paru-paro don't have the education we can get which means they have to worry about being smart.. and fairies, they have to worry about not being seen sa pamamagitan ng humans."
I looked to the wooden floor and sighed. "I guess your right.." I put my hands on my face and sobbed.
"Come here." He took me into his arms.
I was wrong about Marti... he was a sweet guy who really cared. Not the guy at the party when we were 7. We looked into each other's eyes.
"I'm sorry about us, almost 7 years ago." I whispered.
"I know." We both leaned in for the most passionate halik ever.
Now, I'm happy about being a hybrid.
"I pag-ibig you." He whispered in my ear.
"I pag-ibig you too." I whispered back. Smiling and crying tears of joy.
