Ever since I was a young child, I always thought to myself that a stories hero is just as good as their villain. I don't know what it was, but there were times where I preferred the villains over the heroes. I guess it is because the hero is always the character who just wants to do good for the sake of it being the right thing, but the villains motives are always something else. Sure, you always have the typical, "taking over the world" plots, but sometimes, you don't need an deep motive to be an interesting villain. Of course, not that there aren't any on here that do have such motives. So, today, I want to talk about my paborito villains in video games. Before I start, gotta state the obvious rules. These villains have to have originated from video games. So, as much as we all pag-ibig The Joker in the Arkham games, I will not be including him or anyone else from a comic book or movie because of this rule. Oh, and I will also be adding spoilers for games, so be prepared for that. So, with that sinabi and done, let us begin the list.

~#10~

You know, never before have I just looked at a character and said, out loud, "Yeah, that guy's evil". And never before have I seen someone madami evil than a man who wears shades in the goddamn dark and speaks of complete global saturation.

#10: Albert Wesker from Resident Evil

Albert Wesker is probably one of the most mahirap paniwalaan villains in the series, and yet I cannot get enough of him. He's so evil he just resonates with it. Even his voice actor, as great as he is, is just hamming up the evilness that is Wesker. Wesker was created sa pamamagitan ng Oswell Spencer with one purpose, to create a new race of stronger human beings, but Wesker, after surviving a near-death experience within the Spencer Mansion at the hands of the Tyrant creation, came with a new plan. To release the virus, Uroboros, into the worlds atmosphere to create complete global saturation (I'm sorry, that is just such a stupidly funny line). In short, he wants to weed out the weak and create a world where only the strong survive. Albert is not above using anyone and everyone that sides with him in order to achieve his goals, such as killing Spencer to take his place as the ring leader, leading the S.T.A.R.S. team to the Spencer Mansion just to end up as test subjects for the monsters Umbrella created, and causing the deaths of millions, literal millions. From his old master to people who considered him mga kaibigan to huge businesses, Wesker was able to manipulate everyone in order to get close to them, only to get them killed for his plan to create a race where the strong survive and the weak are killed. And in the end, it took being pushed into lava and shot with two rockets just to kill him, and it isn't even clear if he is alive or not. Will Wesker make a return one day? Hopefully. Just pretend Jake Wesker never existed and everything will be A. Okay

(SPOILERS FOR SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS)

Shadow of the Colossus is not a very clear game. Everything in this game can be left to interpretation of the player. And the same can be sinabi for the games... villain?... Maybe?

#9: Dormin from Shadow of the Colossus

As much as I really like Dormin, I had to put him lower on the listahan because I am not really sure if he is evil or not. But if he is, then damn, is he really good at what he does. Wander, the protagonist of his story, desires to bring Mono, a girl he brought to the forbidden lands, back from the dead, and Dormin aids him, telling him that if he kills sixteen of these awe-inspiring stone giants, he will be able to revive Mono. But, with each Colossus killed, Wander slowly starts to change, physically, black veins appearing all over his body, his skin becoming pale. And after the final Colossus is slain, Lord Emon and his men arrive to find that Wander has been possessed sa pamamagitan ng Dormin and make a wasted effort to slay Wander, but Dormin is awakened, as the sixteen Colossi all held pieces of Dormin and he has now awakened once more. But, is Dormin truly evil? That is the true question. It could be sinabi that he is in fact an evil deity sealed away for good reason, as he does attack Lord Emon and his men once he is awakened, but after Dormin and Wander are sealed away sa pamamagitan ng Emon and the bridge to the forbidden lands is destroyed forever, Dormin does keep his end of the deal and revives Mono, but he leaves Wander as a baby with horns, and only revived Mono so that they could be together, just not in the way Wander expected. Dormin did warn Wander that there would be consequences for his actions, but he pressed on. It's ligtas to say that there is no good or evil in this game, and everyone in this story is just doing what they can to survive. But, if Dormin is truly evil, then he is a damn good manipulator.

(SPOILERS FOR CHRONO TRIGGER)

A lot of old Square RPG villains are mostly just these angelic god-like beings of evil (Which we will get to soon), but rarely are they something far madami monstrous. But, Chrono Trigger comes along to just give us the most horrifying sound to ever be heard on the SNES sound chip

#8: Lavos from Chrono Trigger

Lavos is nothing like some of the villains in Final Fantasy. He has no other goals other than it's primal instincts, and those instincts are to consume all life on the planet and then ilipat on from there. Every event in time in Chrono Trigger, from the present time to the medieval time to the apocalyptic future to the age of the dinosaurs, all involve Lavos in a way. In the prehistoric era, Lavos was summoned to the earth sa pamamagitan ng a civilization on a floating island (To those that have not played Chrono Trigger, I'm sure this makes a ton of sense), and crashed into the earth, creating the impact that wiped out the dinosaurs and started the ice age. In the medieval times, the character Magus came to this time to find some way to defeat Lavos for destroying his time period from the past. And in the future, this is the setting where Lavos had finally awakened. Since the prehistoric era, Lavos had been hiding under the earth, sleeping, gaining energy from the planet, and once it awakens, it destroys the whole planet, wiping out most of the earths population and leaving the survivors in a world with no food, no safety, nothing, just to rot on a dead planet. And once the world has been drained, Lavos creates new spawns of itself to go to new planets to start the cycle all over again, even going through time to do the same thing, if we are including the sequel, Chrono Cross, which... man, I don't want to do. And then there is the scream that Lavos makes, which just ruined the nights of many children who heard it. For a sound on the SNES, that was the most terrifying thing ever. You all can talk about how Gigays was the scariest thing on the SNES, but you can shove it. Lavos' scream, that shit is terrifying to me.

~#7~

The last two categories sure made me think a lot in a way. So let's go back to talking about a stupid, over-the-top and fun villain instead

#7: Heihachi Mishima from Tekken

Heihachi is probably one of the worst parents I've ever seen, and yet he is just so much fun to watch. Already starting out as a terrible person, he starts off sa pamamagitan ng being so ashamed of his son, Kazuya, that he just decided to throw him off a cliff to see if he had what it took to have a fighting chance. After that, he overthrew his father, Jinpachi, and then took over the Mishima Zaibatsu as it's president, and started the Iron Fist Tournament, bringing the world's greatest fighters together to fight in his tournament, all for the sake of a good fight. In Tekken 3, he uses his grandson, Jin, as means to defeat an ancient evil named Ogre in order to take over the world, and when that fails, he does what he can to drain his grandson and even his son of their devil energy to become young again. And in his endings, there is nothing he won't do to make his families life miserable. In his ending of Tekken 2, he throws his son into an erupting volcano. In Tekken 3, he throws his grandson out of a moving helicopter. In Tekken 5, which is the most insane, he straps his son, his grandson, and his father to a rocket and laughs as he watches them get blasted into space. The lengths this man will go to for power, and just to make ruin his sons life, as shitty as it is, is kind of impressive.

~#6~

Now, unless your opinion is wrong or you are Canadian, you'd probably tell yourself that Hoyt is the best villain of Far Cry 3. And then you remember who's on the fucking box art.

#6: Vaas Montenegro from Far Cry 3

Vaas is... a special case, really. The fact that he is the first villain on this listahan that is actually insane, with motives that are completely unclear, and actions that make little sense, doing whatever he wants to do as long as he achieves his mission, and yet, despite it all, he is possibly the best character in the entire franchise just because of this fact. Vaas is the right hand man of not-as-interesting Hoyt, pagganap as the leader of the Rook Island's pirates, who terrorize the locals of the island and takes rich teens that are convinced to go to the island sa pamamagitan ng pirate spotters and sells them into slavery. Throughout the entire game, everything he does to Jason is both due to Vaas not being able to control himself and just because he is screwing with Jason, from chasing him through the jungle as he screams at him to setting a small temple building on apoy after luring him in. Despite a clearly mentally disturbed man, he always manages to be one step ahead of Jason. Whenever Jason thinks he's finally got him, Vaas always surprises him, expecting Jason to come to him for whatever reason, an example being him invading his camp, and once he spots Jason, sends dozens of pirates, even heavily armored ones, to attack him. And of course, we can't talk about Vaas without talking about his famous Insanity speech, probably one of the best monologues in any video game in the modern era of games. Hoyt is not a bad villain, he can't help that Vaas is in the same game, but he should know better to fuck off when Vaas comes on screen.

~#5~

Here's a good, classic villain, one that we can all get behind. A simple villain, but boy, an effective one.

#5: Ganondorf from Legend of Zelda

Ganondorf always has one goal in every game ever. To take the Triforce pieces from Zelda and Link and to take over all of Hyrule. A simple motive, but damn if he doesn't do a good job at it. Known sa pamamagitan ng his sudo-name, the King of Thieves, Ganondorf started out as a giant pig monster, before he turned into a sort of warlock in a way. He's always had a dozen different designs, all of them looking really good. There is nothing Ganondorf won't do in order to achieve his goals of getting the Triforce. In Zelda 2: Link's Adventure, even after he is dead, one of his minions, Dark Link, plans to resurrect him. Even in death, he is a threat. In Link to the Past, he uses the wizard Aghanim to wander the Light World as he hides in the alternate Dark World, a messed up version of Hyrule where monsters wander around. In Ocarina of Time, he manages to take over Hyrule for a time after Zelda goes into hiding, destroying the lives of many of the people there. In Wind Waker, he was able to survive the fall of Hyrule and now plans to bring it back so that he can rule it, as well as the Great Sea. In Twilight Princess, he is able to survive his execution and has to be sealed away in the Twilight Realm, where he manipulates Zant to take over the World of Light so that he can rule over the world again. His motives are basic, but it's his actions, his way of doing it, that make him so good. Not to mention, he's just so iconic. I was torn of choosing between him and Bowser, and while Bowser's cool, I just really like Ganondorf a slight bit more. Also, most of his final boss fights are the best part of any Zelda game for me, from the giant monster in Ocarina of Time to the two on one sword fight in Wind Waker to the four phase final boss battle in Twilight Princess. All are so damn good.

(SPOILERS FOR METAL GEAR SOLID SERIES)

Metal Gear Solid, a series that has a plot that is very hard to understand, and I am about to talk about the biggest villain in the franchise. Please madala with me if I screw this up

#4: Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid

The word "back-stabber" gets tossed around a lot on the subject of villains. But while those villains are double crossers, Ocelot is like a quintuple crosser. There is not one character Ocelot has not stabbed in the back for his plan in the entire Metal Gear franchise. Much like how Konami stabbed us in the back with Metal Gear Survive, Ocelot was willing to do whatever it took for his mission. Starting out as a soldier for Volgin in the 60s, he was really a spy for the KGB, but in reality was a spy for the CIA. Later on, he worked alongside president George Sears in order to hide him from the Patriots so that he could plan his attack, despite working alongside the Patriots as well, but later betrayed him after. But then, during the mga baril of the Patriots Incident, he turned on The Patriots to take control of their organization. All of this was planned sa pamamagitan ng him in order to stop The Patriots from having a grip on the world and to allow the people of the world to do what they please, a true free world, allowing whatever may come to happen for the sake of a world that was truly free in his eyes. And this has all been going down since the 60s, all the way up until 2014, having always been a part of Snakes mission to the very end. And this doesn't even discuss his connection to Liquid Snake, his skills with a revolver, or the ever so confusing mess that is the Philosopher's Legacy in Snake Eater, but the point is, Ocelot is a manipulator, a backstabber, and a terrorist, and is just a really great character in the end.

(SPOILERS FOR PORTAL)

These last three villains were really hard for me to decide where to put them. I know I wanted them to be the tuktok three, but how I placed them was a different story entirely. But, I made the choice and now I will just tell you this. GLaDOS is the lowest of the three, but is still an amazing villain

#3: GLaDOS from Portal

GLaDOS, despite being possibly one of the most evil characters in games, is also one of the funniest characters I've ever seen in any game. Being a robotic AI created sa pamamagitan ng Aperture as a means to best their competition, Black Mesa. GLaDOS was made as a killing machine until she was ibingiay a morality core, but later used the poisonous gas of neurotoxin to kill all the scientists after trapping them inside. Now that the lab is locked off from the rest of the world, GLaDOS uses the remaining survivors as test subjects without them knowing of the events, making them solve puzzles with a portal gun with the promise of cake. After the tests are finished, GLaDOS throws the test subjects into a furnace, only for them to escape, if just barely. Throughout the game, GLaDOS is making very morbid but really funny quotes. We all know them, you know all her best lines. She is just a lot of fun to listen to, even in the times when she tries to kill your character. It is only until Portal 2 that she takes a backseat from the villain role and becomes a madami friendly character, but still makes very morbid jokes throughout the game. I guess I put her lower because of that fact, but it's just her personality, the amount of humor they put into her character, that makes her such a memorable and fun antagonist and one of the reasons Portal became such a popular game.

(SPOILERS FOR FINAL pantasiya VI)

Remember when I talked about other Square Enix villains who were angelic gods of evil? Well, here we are. With a ton of Final pantasiya villains to choose from, I was tempted to go with Sephiroth. And then I remembered that that's an overrated choice.

#2: Kefka Palazzo from Final pantasiya VI

Since I can't put Joker on here, I'm going to go with the susunod best thing. Kefka is a little crazy, but is able to have a bit madami control of himself. But it's understandable if you do consider him crazy, because... well, just look at him. His motives are pretty clear. He just wants to kill because he sees things such as life and hope as meaningless and wants to prove just that sa pamamagitan ng causing as much death and destruction as possible. Setting apoy to a kastilyo because rebels may be there, poisoning a lake, killing everyone in the castle, as well as one of the party member's families, using Espers as tools for the empire, as well as killing off the emperor of sinabi empire is nowhere near enough for Kefka, though. Once he finds out that he can do so much madami damage, he disturbs the balance of the world just to become a god, but the end result is far worse than anything a villain on this listahan has done. He causes the world to fall apart, half of the planets population dying from the end of the world, monsters coming into the world, and the party being separated and left to wander the world, with Kefka becoming a god and using his powers just to slaughter entire villages just for the hell of it. It's one thing for a villain to have horrible goals, but it's a whole other thing for a villain to achieve those goals, and that is why Kefka is always talked about so much in Final Fantasy. He actually succeeded. Sure, it wasn't long before he was defeated, but just knowing that he won and the bayani Nawawala is a haunting thought, and that's why he is so great as a villain

~#1~

(MAJOR SPOILERS FOR PERSONA 4)

I don't have a concrete reason as to why I chose this villain to be number one on this list. But I think, the main reason I chose him, is, despite how it can be believed how unreal his behavior is, it is actually the most real of a motive I can think of and what makes it the most disturbing, as well as just making it great. And if you played Persona 4, you know exactly who the bastard is.

#1: Tohru Adachi from Persona 4

Just looking at this man, you can tell he is far from threatening. He's just some guy in a suit. And yeah, you're right. He is just a guy and nothing more. Well, minus the ability to use a Persona in the Shadow World, but details. But his actions and his motives are what makes him so memorable. For a whole year, Yu and his mga kaibigan have been searching for the killer of two women in the town, who had also been attempting to kill every party member in the game. There were many red herrings throughout the story, like the edgelord teen who's so useless I actually forgot his name, that just did a copycat murder for attention, and then Namatame, who didn't do the first two murders, but did the others and just sa pamamagitan ng chance, thought he was doing the right thing. Throughout the game, Adachi is always around you, blurting out stuff that is police information to the team for whatever reason, but you'd think it is just him being the bumbling police partner who is there for comic relief. But, as madami and madami time goes by, he is always around the party and it makes you think there is madami to it. And then, in the final buwan of the game, when you confront him, you just have to ask yourself, what is his motive? What was his reason for the murders that was giving you an in-game years worth of build up? And the answer is just because. Adachi has no personal reasons, nothing to hide, he just killed them because he could and he'd do it again and again. He says that the world was never fair and that this was his chance to have some fun, as he described it. People say that this is unbelievable, but it's actually madami real than you might think .There are killers in the real world that have this same mindset, who do things because they can. Trust me, I have college level psychology learning, so therefore, that makes me smarter than everyone. Fact! But back on topic, even if you find his motives baffling, just the fact that this guy, this comic relief buffoon was actually a sociopath who had nothing but hatred for the world is truly a disturbing turn of events, and it just pushes you to go and beat him up in his boss fight, which, as simple as it is, just makes him all that madami interesting. Adachi is not a capable fighter. He never prepared for something like this, and it's no surprise he gets his asno kicked sa pamamagitan ng a group of people who had a taon to train with their abilities. His motives, his personality, his nihilistic view on the world as a whole, I don't know what it is, but all of this just makes Adachi an amazing character and just makes him my paborito villain in any game.
So, I promised I would read madami Alpha and Omega fanfics…… much to my displeasure, so, here is the susunod one, known as Jasper Park Mating Season….. Haven’t even read it, and already, I regret my decision.

It’s that time again. Time for me to talk about a Suda game. Suda games are usually a hit or a miss between audiences. They can become cult classics like No madami bayani and Killer7, or they can be completely forgotten like Diabolical Pitch. His games are only really considered sa pamamagitan ng people who enjoy his style of storytelling and over-the-top gameplay. So it’s no surprise that I enjoy a good portion of his games. They have tons of plot and story in them, making them madami well thought out than games of yesterday. But, no better are a game’s story shown than the plot twist.
