I've written a few high school romance drama that don't have anything to do with the supernatural world. So, I would go with something that is maybe really tragic for the main characters. Morbid as it sounds, I usually make it a lot to do with the death of someone that gets the two teens involved with one another, which then leads to romance.

If you aren't into Pagsulat about death, that's alright. ;-)

if you have ever read the story "Lord Of The Flies", I was discussing with someone before about twisting it around and instead of it being an all-boys stuck on an island, make it an all-girls trapped in a high school. we thought it was very dramatic.

Here's a few ideas (hopefully they aren't too cliche 9_9)

-Drug problems
-Dysfunctional family
-Mental health issues
-Debt and money problems
-Death of friend or family
-Abuse of some sort
-Criminal action
-Major physical health problem
-Teen pregnancy or STDs
-Homosexuality
-Racism

You could sort of incorperate several of these ideas into your story.

Well think about something that would really relate to today's high school teens. What is an issue that keeps occuring? Then incorperate the romance in with everything else...i think it would be a great story
