How do you write fade out scenes (I'll explain) i'll give a pagpaparangal to anyone that can help

I`m not sure because I don`t do big jumps in time, but I`ll do something like this: I`ll first write ana ction which I want to write and then maybe write something like "The same NAME OF CHARACTER was, for example 20 years ago, doing something and those deeds were now character`s reason to remorse...." I don`t know, I think I wrote it a bit chaotic, but I`m from Poland, so it wasn`t so easy for me to write what I exactly wanted.

It depends what you're writting: script or novel. I'll do both.

Novel:
As Jimmy looked at Ruth, it triggered a memory of something that had happened years ago, thought it was still fresh in his mind... (explain your flashback)

or

Looking at Ruth, I couldn't stop myself from remembering of that event years ago...

It was a dark stormy night... blah-blah-blah, explain flashback

Script:
Jimmy is looking at Ruth, dumbfound. Camera zooms to his eye and goes inside, mga kulay and patern twirl quick as camera goes faster, now we see the flashback.
