Whatever happened to indenting?!

So I know in posts like these and email it's sometimes hard to indent and spelling and grammar isn't as important, but when you're Pagsulat a formal paper, indenting helps mark the paragraphs! My English teacher doesn't indent and neither do any of her students (except me). In addition, she doesn't correct spelling or grammar and it's driving me nuts! I thought I heard someone say something about indenting no longer being in use. Is this true? If so, I will attack whoever made this decision. Please indent in your essays; it's not that hard!
