“Damien, I’m sorry,” his smooth voice sinabi in my ear. I couldn’t face him. He had kicked me out, why would he be here? To apologize? It was a nice gesture, but it crippled me just to see him.
“I don’t believe you,” my voice was shaking. Tears kept streaming down my face.
“Listen,” he crept down the side of my face.
“No, you listen to me,” I sinabi turning over to face him. Our faces were all of three inches apart. “You killed me! Now you expect to come in here, apologize, and I’ll forgive you! Forget it!” I couldn’t help myself; I looked into his big brown eyes. I saw the pain flicker in them, and the sorrow. I think he was genuinely sorry, but I was still mad.
“I don’t expect you to just forgive me, but I do want you to remember YOU were the one who slept with Grey. My reaction was perfectly justified,” the pag-ibig of my life just put me in my place. I didn’t like it.
“Alexander, we both know you handled it the wrong way! You wouldn’t even give me the chance to fully explain!” I said. Alexander Laveney knew how to make a person pissed. Yet he knew how to calm them down, and persuade them to forgive. I could feel him doing it to me, and I wasn’t going down without a fight.
“I was mad at you! I loved you, and to know you slept with someone else killed me! I thought you didn’t pag-ibig me anymore!” Alexander had tears in his eyes. Hell no, he was not going to get me to give.
“I always loved you. I thought about you the whole time, and I prayed you would forgive me. My prayer wasn’t answered though. No, instead I was kicked out and homeless,” I looked away from him. Unable to madala his eyes.
Alexander kissed my ear. “Damien, I would’ve died if your suicide attempt would’ve been successful. I’m not going to let you live, and me not be apart of your life.” He took my chin and made me look into his eyes. I tried to pull away, but his grip was firm. “I lo-”
“No!” I cut him off. I would not let his words pull me into his trap. “No, no,” I jerked away from him, and got out of the bed. I ran down the hall. “Where the hell are you going?” Alexander yelled. He ran after me. I jumped on the elevator and hit the ‘B’ button. I was going to the basement. Just before he could get on the elevator, the door closed. My puso was racing, and I cried. He wanted me back. He actually wanted me back, but no, my stubborn self had to get in the way.
I reached the basement floor. I got off the elevator. It really wasn’t much of a basement. It was much madami of a storage room. I went over to the back corner. A paliguan sat there. It was small, but I could fit. I got in and sat down. I pulled my knees up to my chest. I breathed a sigh of relief. It would take Alexander a while before he found me. I was grateful I knew the institution so well.
I sat in the paliguan for about thirty minutes. During that time, I sawed my cast off with tools I found. It was just getting in the way. My arm didn’t hurt. I had just gotten it off when I heard footsteps. They were getting closer and closer. He had caught up with me. Now what?
