CHAPTER NINE:
On the drive back to my apartment, I cannot help but feel something is amiss. What it is, I don’t have a clue. As I continue the drive, I once madami delve into my past…
CRYSTAL FALLS: 1850
I awaken an oras later, still in pain from the sun’s rays. I feel Perry’s dried blood on my face, and find myself disgusted at what I have done. I cannot believe the situation I’ve landed myself in. About ten minutos later, Perry returns to the cave. From where I do not care, or even want to know. I feel nothing but burning hatred and contempt for him. I still do not know what prevented me from killing him earlier, or at least trying. Then I remember how easily he snapped the neck of the man he turned nearly a week earlier. That I believe is the reason. Perry smiles when he notices I’m awake. “How do you feel?” he asks, and I notice a tone of happiness in his voice. “Horrible. I’m in so much pain and can’t stop feeling this lust for blood.” I say furiously. Perry nods. “Yes. That is horrible at first, isn’t it?” he mutters. “But here’s the good news. It gets better Ash. And after awhile, you genuinely stop caring about the people you kill. If you even want to, you don’t have to kill them, but for me I ponder, where’s the fun if you don’t kill?” I feel the anger still burning up inside of me with every word I hear come out of his mouth. “Why didn’t you kill me then?” I ask him. Perry shrugs. “Didn’t see the sport in it. Besides, I wasn’t hungry at the time. Another reason, is because I truly do respect and admire your father. He is one of the only people who gives a crap about other people’s lives. He’s not sexist nor do you and your mother seem to be. He’s a genuinely caring person.” Perry trails off. “Remember what I sinabi earlier? Before you passed out?” he asked. I do remember, and I know at this point it is pointless to lie about it. “You sinabi you had a proposition for me, but whatever it is, I won’t take it. I’d rather die than help you in any way.” Perry nods. “I thought that you’d say something like that, which is why I’ve got a backup plan.” He says, and once again, I detect the note of happiness in his voice. “What’s your backup plan?” I ask. Perry smiles. “If you don’t take my proposition, your father will die like your mother, only worse.” He says smiling. “But I really don’t want it to have to come to that Ashley. Like I sinabi before, I honestly have much respect for the man, but I’ll do what I have to. And if you try to kill yourself to stop my fun, your father WILL suffer.” He says smiling. “Fine Perry! I’ll hear you out. But might I say you are truly a sociopath you freak!” Perry smiles sinisterly. “I knew you’d see it my way Ash. And please, call me sa pamamagitan ng my real name. Pike.” He says, ipinapakita his fangs.
CRYSTAL FALLS: OCTOBER 29, 1995:
I return to my apartment, once again feeling contempt for Pike. As I climb out of my car, I smell a scent. I know right then, a vampire is in my apartment. I sneak up the stairs and find the door open. Just when I think I’ve got the element of surprise on my side, I hear a voice. “You know Ash, I can sense you too.” I stop suddenly. It is Pike’s voice. I haven’t heard it in nearly thirty years. “Come in Ashley. We have so much to discuss.” I hear. “I didn’t come here to fight.” He replies. I can tell he’s telling the truth. This time, and reluctantly walk into the apartment. The scent of blood is all over. But I see no puwang it could be coming from. I see sibat sitting on the couch, smoking a cigar. “Ashley! It’s been too long!” he says, smiling. “Not long enough.” I mutter. sibat shrugs and stands up. “I’m sorry you feel like that.” He says casually. “Why is the scent of blood everywhere?” I ask. sibat shrugs. “Details. Hate ‘em. We’ll get to that in a moment. But first, I saw on the news that you killed my lackeys. Sure they meant nothing, but I created them. Just like I created you. And you let yourself live all these years.” I stare at him “I didn’t have a choice.” sibat smiles. “After your dad died you did. But let’s not stay stuck in the past. I want information out of you. And you’re going to help me.” He says smiling. “What information?” I ask him. sibat smiles. “I’ve heard there’s a telepath here in town. And that you know where he or she is.” I stare shocked, and realize I’ve just ibingiay away that I do know something. sibat smiles. “And you’re going to tell me who it is and where I can find them.” I shake my head. “Why do you need a telepath so bad?” I ask. He smiles. “Let’s just say my plans depend on it. Now you will help me, or you WILL pay the consequences. What’s it going to be?” he asks. “I’ll never tell.” I say, thinking of Harold and realizing he’s become involved whether I like it or not. sibat smiles. “Then it’s time to see what’s in your closet.” I watch as he walks over to the closet and opens the door. To my horror, Danny is in there, tied up and bleeding. sibat smiles. “You could’ve saved him Ash. You still can, but to do it, you’ll have to break a promise you made to yourself all those years ago.” Before I can do anything, he slices into Danny’s stomach. “You know the only way to save him now. “I’ve got to run. Do a bit madami digging, then I’ll take out any other mga kaibigan you’ve made here. And give you the choice again.” With that, sibat leaves the room. I swiftly take the tape off Danny’s mouth, and hear him groan in pain. “Help me! Call someone! Do SOMETHING!” he pleads. I dare not untie him, he would bleed out to quickly. I know he will be dead before help would ever arrive. I look at him sadly, and know I have a choice to make. If I do what sibat wants me to, I can save him. If not. He will die. I sigh. I ponder what to do, then against my better judgement, I make a decision.

I told Cameron everything, except the part about me being a sea witch. I don't think he'll be able handle that.

"So you take pictures of mythical creatures that you have believed in since you were 5."

"That is correct."

"Unbelievable."

"I'll tell you what's unbelievable. The fact that you're so calm. When I tell people my life story, they think I'm the craziest person they ever met."

"No, that's perfectly believable. You are insane!"

Oh the irony. "No Cameron, it's the truth."

Cameron got up and went inside.

I followed him. "Why don't you believe me?"

He turned around to face me. "Because I'm not...

Celeste's POV:

Since a long time ago, 30 years to be exact, wizards and witches have been mortal enemies. The wars. The discrimination. It would not stop. Thankfully now, it has settled down. That doesn't mean the hatred has stopped, it just means we witches make sure we don't go anywhere near wizards.

"Wha-BAM!" I sent a powerful charge into my hand. A neon kahel light fired at the object I held in my right hand. "Hahahaha! Perfect!" I cried. The sweet tsaa I had was now turned into a one of many healing potions. I sighed enlightened. "Another job well done, Celeste." I had to admit, I was a...

The Life of Amelia Grace

Mia Grace’s alarm clock rang shrilly in her ear that morning. Groaning, she rolled over, pounded the snooze button down and buried her face in the covers. She was barely able to get another few extra minutos of sleep before somebody ripped the covers off of her and a cheerful voice rang out, “Come on, Mia, you’re never going to get into eleventh grade sa pamamagitan ng sleeping all day!”
“That’d be an easy way to do it,” mumbled Mia, rubbing her eyes and stretching. When she opened her eyes a black haired man was looming over her, a stupid grin on his face.
“Geez,...

Alexander left for Boston yesterday. He left me with spare keys to his apartment. I promised him I would go apologize to Grey. I wasn’t excited about it, but it had to be done. I was going to do it today, the sooner the better.
I sighed as I rose from the leather couch, and took the keys from the hook. I walked to Grey’s house. It looked the same. Her car-well my car that I didn’t take with me-sat in the driveway. She didn’t have to work. I went up to the door and knocked.
I stood there a moment, and waited. I heard footsteps and the door...

December 14, 1941. I, Chanhassen Dobbins, am a young thirteen year-old girl that is living in New York City. "Chanhassen Marie Dobbins!" My mother calls me. In my gray nightgown, I make my warm kama neatly. "Sometimes, I wish I was younger." I mumble to myself. As I change into my regular attire, I open the chipped wooden door from my bedroom and follow my mother's voice. Walking down the dark brown staircase, I see my mother sitting at the kusina mesa drinking milk. "Ahhhh...! Chanhassen! Lydia wanted you to meet her in her father's cafe." She takes a sipof the mug with her chapped tan lips....

I went back tahanan for a few hours. I pagtunaw of old paper and cologne. I decided to get a shower; maybe it would calm my anxieties about tonight. As I scrubbed myself, I decided the only thing the paliguan was doing was ridding me of my office scent.
I got out of the paliguan and put on some clothes. I wore a black, v-neck shirt, with a pair of tight black pants. I towel dried my hair, and messed it with some gel. I put on cologne, just in case anyone got close enough to smell me. I put the cologne down, and checked to make sure it was in place. My arm muscle twitched. I left...

The Spirit

The spirit rushes on,
Swifter than the wind,
To find answers,
To seek the way.

The spirit flows on,
Like the river.
Flowing on to find the ocean,
A tahanan for all its dreams.

The spirit shines on,
Brighter than a thousand suns.
Shining on to clear the darkness,
To find the path.

The spirit lives on,
madami eternal than the sea,
Living on to find its home,
Where all the ends shall meet.

We had been training for this moment since the apocalypse.

Two years nakaraan a killer disease criss crossed the world. This disease killed people almost instantly. The people who were diagnosed died in a few horribly painful hours. Only a handful people survived. My twin sister, Victoria and I were one of those few people. Sadly, even our parents died of this disease. We were only twelve when it happened and I remember our parents begging on their deathbeds that we get the vaccine. The doctors would only give us the vaccine, not our parents.

I woke up after my nap, to find Howl is gone again. I looked out of the cave, seeing the waterfall running, but then I look down to see Howl. Howl is in the waterfall, washing himself, as if he were taking a paliguan or whatever. I left him alone, and went back to my nap. I had this very freaky dream while napping: I had a nightmare that I was back tahanan in New York with Howl. Everyone back tahanan looked demonic and scary. Mom and Dad didn't look like themselves. They looked non-human like and cannibalistic in a way that even scared me. Howl was no where to be found, as Adam was trying to halik me...

Somewhere in the universe, a planet was dying.

The planet was Esphera, Earth's twin. Here lived people like on earth, who wore pants, shirts and dresses; they went to school and had emotions;they had their own currency. There were no cars here, but they had instead hovercrafts- spade-shaped vehicles that floated in the air. Most people on the planet were too poor to buy a hovercraft, one of the most expenisve items in Esphera.

But the thing that sets Earth and Esphera apart is the children.

Children on Esphera are all born with a special power-like invisibility-that vanishes at age 16. After...
