Chapter Thirteen-
Revenge pulled the frying pan off of his head and stood up, groaning. Reaper had thrown an explosive that had thrown Revenge into the kusina where his mother's cookware had fallen on him.
Revenge got up and surveyed the damage. A three foot hole looked down into the story below them. Luckily, there appeared to be no structural damage, but everyone was being evacuated anyway.
Revenge looked for Reaper. He wasn't to be found.
Revenge heard Reaper before he saw him. Hearing a whistling in the air, Revenge turned around in time to see Reaper's foot land on his broken leg.
Revenge yelled in pain, swinging madly at the nut job. The murderer cackled as he dodged from side to side, avoiding Revenge's blows.
"Revenge!" Sarah's worried voice broke through to his comm.
"Not now!" Revenge said. "What's the ETA for the SWAT team?"
"Five minutes." Sarah replied.
"Five?" Sam asked, throwing down a smoke grenade. "You sinabi that five minutos ago!"
"Traffic." Sarah replied.
"Perfect." Sam said, standing in front of his mom.
Reaper walked out of the smoke ulap laughing hysterically. He walked over to the fridge and pulled his scythe out, twirling it around.
Revenge pulled out a few gas daggers.
"Hold your breathe and don't breathe at all until I tell you to." Revenge sinabi before detonating the daggers.
Under the cover of the kulay-rosas cloud, Revenge slipped off enough of his mask to slip on a rebreather before re-attaching it to the rest of his suit.
Reaper laughed and walked through the dispelling smoke cloud. "That never has and never will work, Revenge." Reaper said.
"Not supposed to knock you out," Revenge said, pointing at the crumbling metal blade of the scythe.
Reaper looked back and forth between his weapon and the teen vigilante.
"You can breathe sa pamamagitan ng the way." Revenge sinabi to his mom.
Reaper tossed the weapon away and pulled out a pistol. "Ah, well. Not as much of a mark, but it'll do to kill you and her."
Revenge threw himself at Reaper, tackling him to the floor. Reaper's first round went into the roof. His segundo into the wall, and his third bounced off a pan.
"Not very good aim, are you?" Revenge asked, tossing the gun away and struggling to keep Reaper pinned to the floor.
Reaper grinned and knocked a bowl off onto Revenge's leg. Revenge gasped in pain, giving Reaper enough momentum to flip Revenge and whip out one of his own daggers.
"Here we go!" Reaper cackled, raising the dagger for the final blow.
Reaper suddenly crumpled to the ground, Sam's mom standing behind him with a frying pan.
"Thanks, Ms. Grant." Revenge said, standing up. He began to limp out the door, but stopped at his mom's voice.
"Are you okay?" she asked. "I could look at that leg of yours."
A moment of hesitation and want came over Revenge. Want to tell his mom his secret. Want to tell her everything.
But he didn't.
"I'm fine, thanks." Revenge said, opening the door for the SWAT teams before limping out.
