Naw. Some of them are pretty smart.

I have a friend who's a bit of a bully. Her name's Lex. She's one of the smartest kids I've ever met. You know, IQ over 140, able to work anything out, able to defend her arguments and opinions, sharp, knows what to say and when, etc. But her grades are shit, and she can be a bully. Why? Abusive and alcoholic dad. He'll kick her out of her house for days at a time. Mother who blamed her for everything that went wrong in their lives, was verbally abusive in other ways, and left when Lex was 10 saying she hated her.

So Lex? She's a far cry from being an idiot.

But what about another word? Like asshole? Bullies can be assholes. Lex can be an asshole. But so can all of us.

(Not that I'm defending bullying, mind. I'm quite against it. We're trying to help Lex, but it's hard to help someone who doesn't want to be helped.)
