Will Elena die?

I read somewhere that Elena dies in books so just wanted to know,I haven't read the books so I don't know,although I am watching the series on TV(I would be extremely sad if she dies).BUT please don't spoil it to much,I just wanna know if she dies :(

I know she becomes a vampire,so obviously she dies,but I meant did she die like for real,4 ever,lol?

Yes, she dies for real. First she becomes a vampire and then she dies as a vampire. But it's really cool actually, it's anthological. But even after that, she's not gone for real. She comes back. ;)
