Penguins of Madagascar Article: Growing Up

The Penguins of Madagascar. It's the telebisyon ipakita under which we are bannered as one, and it is slowly becoming a memory. Even with those few episodes left to air, the Final Season is pretty much over. So where does that leave us?

I've been a part of this club since April of 2010. For an entire taon I was on forums, chatting and laughing with the rest of you. I gradually grew out of it, and found myself visiting this site less and less, to the point where it had been months since I had been here.

Last night, my brothers took out an official Penguins DVD I had bought years ago. As I laughed with them during the episode "It's About Time", I remembered all the good times I had had here. The art, the craziness, the absolute insanity of the fans, but most of all, the joy.

I decided to check back in on this club, and you know what I found?

That same joy that had been there three years nakaraan is still here today. Sure, most of you are new faces. Most of the people I knew are long gone. But the fact remains that you enjoy this show, and you aren't afraid to be here to celebrate it. Some of you come from difficult situations, and this is your moment of relaxation and stability during troubled storms. Others of you are madami fortunate and come here as mere recreation. Some of you ship characters, such as Skilene and Dorski. Others of you just like chatting about episodes and going-ons at nickelodeon.

In the end, we are all here for the Penguins. The ipakita that brought us together and left us wanting madami of them every saturday morning. The ipakita that gave some of us a reason to be sociable to others that we didn't even know, complete strangers with one common interest.

I look back on my times in the fandom one last time, wondering where those experiences had gone, and I realize that they never left. I can still feel the passion of this club. Your joy and your togetherness are what truly separates you from other fandoms.

I will admit, I've found other stuff much madami interesting than the Penguins of Madagascar during the three years I've been gone. I've graduated, obtained my Eagle Scout Award, and even went to Haiti twice. But fanpop is one of my roots, and I will always come back home.

To you, the fans of The Penguins of Madagascar.

Stay true. Stay hearty. Stay safe.

spmana123 I've never told anyone this before...when I was in 7th grade...my parents went through a terrible divorce...and I went threw a big depression... I didn't eat hardly.. And I went to weighing 170 to 130...but I started watching this show...and it made me feel really happy...and when I begun to watch it even today...I eat now...and I feel alot better...the penguins saved my life...and I will always remember them...heh...I've never told anyone this... But u all are my friends...and fenguins stick together...:)

peacebaby7 @spmana123: I'm glad POM helped you through that time. I know how you feel, my father left two years ago as well and he's still trying to put my mother and I through hell. This place really is good for when you need to be cheered up. :)

beastialmoon That is absolutely, positively nothing to be embarresed about. It helped you through a very dark time in your life. You have my sympathy, I can't begin to imagine what sort of hell that must have been for you.

spmana123 It was bad...my dad was just keeping me for money...so I moved with my mom...but threw all that...the penguins helped me threw it..

Private1sCut3 PoM has been something to get my mind off troubles too. And seeing cute little Private puts a smile on my face.

mostar1219 ^^ yikes. Sorry to hear that. I might not know how it feels to be in your shoes in that situation, but sometimes I feel like my dad is trying to get close to me and my brother to get close to my mother.

peacebaby7 @spmana123: Us fanguins would help you through it as well, if you ever needed to talk. Personally, I can relate to your predicament. My father just wants me to spite my mother and quite frankly doesn't give a damn about me only because I don't want to see him. So, don't ever feel alone. We're always here if you need us.

"LILLY!" Crystal squealed as she madala huged her little sister. Lilly was in so much shock, she couldn't move. "Skipper.....why is she here? In the HQ. HUGGING ME!?" Lilly asked in a testy voice. "Well....while I was conversing with your sister earlier, she told me she was already on her way, and had nowhere else to go. So I told her she could stay here until we could contact your mother." Skipper replied, trying to make it sound like 'no big deal'. " I--don't--want her here!" Lilly protested, trying to wiggle herself free from Crystal's grasp.
